  1. The hold up with signing Monty, or Snell is obviously $$$. Gio being out for an extended period of time isn’t going to change that. Paying Gio $18 not to pitch for them isn’t going to change the aspect at all, and if anything it makes it worse not to mention the Red Sox are paying Sale $17M not to pitch for them also.
  2. When Gio was signed he said he hadn’t drawn much interest from other clubs, so it sounds pretty much like the Red Sox were bidding against themselves.
  3. UNDERdogs for sure.
  4. Like I said earlier that Gio was never going to make, or break the Red Sox season in the first place.
  5. Your phony optimism was hanging on Gio?
  6. Sale was surgery waiting to happen when they resigned him, and Story was surgery waiting to happen before they signed him.
  7. Another plan has come together. I said I was shocked when they signed Gio in the first place, because of the $18M even if he had an opt out, or not. Gio was not going to make, or break the season anyway, but now the Red Sox are paying Gio $18M possibly not to pitch, $17M to Sale to pitch for someone else, and had to pay JT some opt out money. I bet JH is not happy about that. Outside of adding another starter it looks like next man up, which will probably be Whit as I think the rotation had been set before ST started even though Cora had said only 4 spots had been set' but I think Houck was going to get that last spot.
  8. He probably didn’t think so at the time, but JH did DD a favor by firing him.
  9. The Phillies now have 7 players this year making at least $20M.
  10. How many players have the Red Sox supposedly been listening to offers on?
  11. A $300M DH for the Boston Red Sox not to mention adding more payroll for the payroll strapped Sox. Wow! It was NEVER going to happen, and now it can’t happen at least for this year. WOW!🤭🙈🤭
  12. As you would say not even close to the same point.
  13. What’s shocking is that you still don’t get that the Red Sox are not going to do what you want them to do. Who is leaping to the FO defense? We’re just telling you they are not going to do what you want them to do. If that is coming to the defense of the FO in your mind then so be it, but that’s not what it is. It’s just reality.
  14. I agree with you on the D, but I’ve just accepted the fact that I don’t see anything changing anytime soon with the present makeup of the roster that the front office has put together, and whining, and crying about it isn’t going to change that either. SP, and D were the two things that had to be improved on for the club to get better, and so far I haven’t seen much improvement outside of a pitching coach, and a different IF instructor. Read into that anyway you want.
  15. Or the year before with Arroyo in RF, and Franchy at 1B, and don’t forget the Butterfly Man in CF who looked completely lost that year. They even tried to plug Flintstone Schwarber at 1B. You might not like RBI over D, but that’s not the way the Red Sox have gone about their business. Let’s not forget Kike at SS last year either.
  16. Get over it. NO ONE running the Red Sox it appears agrees with you. Like I said in an earlier post, and even before that I don’t believe the Red Sox worry about D like talksox does
  17. Wow JH at a ST game talking with Brez. Probably giving Brez his allowance.
  18. 100% agree on the RAF Man staying in CF.
  19. Hasn’t Cora said that E Valdez is the likely candidate to fill in at 2B?
  20. The funny part is you think you’re talking to me, but you’re really talking to Cora, and the Red Sox front office now, and the past four years that have created this bad D situation. It would be great if Raffy could play D like Lowell, or Beltre, but he can’t, and it would be nice if Casas could scoop em at 1B, like Boomer Scott, but so far he can’t, so they have to play the cards they have dealt themselves. I didn’t put the team together, and all the whining, and crying about it that you are doing isn’t going to change a thing. I NEVER said I like Devers as an option at 3B, so that’s FAKE news. I just keep saying that’s the way it is, and I don’t see it changing anytime soon. Go ask the Red Sox why even have a defense, because THEY are the ones responsible.
  21. What if it’s NO guy’s position? The answer is still NO. He’s signed with the Giants, and it’s not happening. Now, or before. Last year it was Gallo with you, and two years ago you was all in on the JBJ trade. Two of those didn’t happen, and the one that did shouldn’t have.🙈🤭
  22. We already had the same discussion on Chapman weeks ago, and the only thing that has changed is Chapman has now signed with someone else. What hasn’t changed is Raffy is entrenched at 3B, and Casas is entrenched at 1B for the immediate future, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.
  23. You keep thinking Chapman was ruled out. My thinking is he was not even thought about in the first place.
  24. Yea the pressure is really on Casas now.
  25. As was lots of others apparently.
