  1. That’s the way it works in all sports, and always will when you have divisions. I’m fine with no divisions at all, and just take the best records, but I don’t see them ever going back to that way, so bring on the best teams, and be in the toughest divisions to see how good you are. Not once have I ever said I wish the Red Sox had been in a weaker division even in 1978.
  2. Having Boston in that Div would be more than fair IMO. The tougher the better to me. Like I’ve been saying the last few years when the whining, and crying went on over what a tough division the Red Sox have to play in is that the Red Sox have been in the same division since the divisions came into play, and when they have been good enough they won, and moved on, and when they haven’t been good enough they haven’t. The tougher the better for me.
  3. The Red Sox should have known the second Durbin was a Red Sox where he would be playing EITHER 2B, or 3B. This shouldn’t be that hard.🤭
  4. Masa taking up a roster spot as a pretty much full time DH is one thing, but I don’t see him, or Casas taking up roster spots as backup DH.
  5. You’re right, and there would have been nothing wrong with that.
  6. Now it’s only Bogey, and his family.
  7. Players 100%. Owners on down 100%.
  8. Chicken Little cry-outs? Wow!🤭
  9. I’m not assuming Anthony will finish out his 9 year contract in Boston myself, which sounds about right to me. I’m also far from being the only one who calls Mayer a SUSPECT even if they don’t use that exact word.
  10. I don’t think they chose to ignore it, but just couldn’t find the right bargin.
  11. They were thinking they had Dom, and Jimmy there.🤔
  12. Not necessarily. He probably won’t stay in Boston his whole contract.
  13. RAF Man most likely isn’t going to hit as well as Duran, Abreu, and Anthony, but IMO he doesn’t have to.
  14. I get what you are saying 100%. If things follow suit Sox fans better enjoy the Mayer’s, and Anthony while they are young, and somewhat affordable, because they most likely will be gone when they can become FA.
  15. You’ve made this statement several times already, so good for you.
  16. I agree if you are halfassing it, but as I said at the time you didn’t have to, and shouldn’t have.
  17. What do you think the players, and Cora wanted to do? Fire Sale? No way, and as this was brought up then as it is now not trying to win is a LOSERS Attitude. Not trying to win then you might as well not play.
  18. It doesn’t matter as much though with the Con Man who’s on a shorter contract.
  19. I agree, and I like to think of it of Breslow being a settler who settled. It may all work out in the end though.
  20. I agree. Better player vs better value. Sometimes you have to take the better player even if it hurts a little.
  21. That’s the point TC was getting at. Injuries have held him back big time, and at the very least he’s still a platoon player.
  22. As Sam said it’s hypothetically. Seeing Sam’s facial expression during the recent interview said it all.
  23. Heard an interview with TC this morning from the Fort. He said Mayer’s can go anywhere from being the starting 2B to being sent to Woo, and trying to work his way back up to Boston. TC said this is a big ST for Mayer’s, because he hasn’t proven anything yet, and especially being able to stay on the field.
  24. Sam’s comments got a lot of play on the talk shows yesterday. Not to favorably to Sam, but what’s new? As one said after hearing Sam’s comments from last Sept that Alex wanted to stay in Boston, and the Red Sox wanted the same, and now after that didn’t happen the Red Sox are trying to convince the fans that what the Red Sox ended up with was the plan all along.
  25. He hasn’t played much the past two years, so he got a lot of catching up to do.
