The team is loaded with weak hitting players. Contreras is our big bat and his career high on homers is 24 which came 8 seasons ago and now he's got 23. Abreu's high in homers is 22 (he's six off that mark). We need a big bat. A 30 plus homer bat.
More like Virginia to Dallas then to Sacramento (Sogard missed the connecting flight yesterday). He doesn't even have a "B" on his batting helmet (he had to bring his own?).
We have a lot of stiffs on offense. We need offense and what does Breslow do. He gets us a guy with a sub 0.300 career OBP in Jones. How about Casey Schmidt? Mike Trout? Juan Soto? Go big.
Since posting this we've run off 8 straight wins. Over the last 15 games (13-2) the Sox have averaged 5 runs a game. Amazing how just a little more scoring helps with wins. The pitching has been great with 2.8 ERA over that 15 game stretch. Keep it up. We still need a big bat.
