    What I like about Ref is his ability to hit game winners, bet he gets this one.

    Refsnyder has no more ability to hit than some of the rookies. Never should have expected him to be the FT player he is now

    I would have not even turned off the engine. Cora has , once again, been dealt a losing hand in the pitching ranks. That was almost too predictable.

    Devers is hurt but trying to carry the team which he can NOT. He is not Papi II. Take him for what he is and at least he is on the field playing

    The inability of many Sox players to fail on hitting fastballs over the plate has been noticeable this season. They can foul them off before chasing the sweeper out of the zone, but cannot hit theFB well. That should be bread and butter for most MLB'ers.

    Devers continues to play through his sore left shoulder, swinging harder to try and pop it back in place.

    Starting 4 rookies , as they have virtually all year long . By the end of the next 7 games ( Rangers/Orioles) this team could rebound or be below .500 once again. Bello better be better .

    That comment and the aftermath cost him his complete season of playing all 162 ( there will be no playoff games). Now with his spirit shattered and nothing but acid to spur him on, he may not get another hit all year. Sad demise of a player who had electrified a team up until yesterday. Completely overlooking that he was 0-3, with 3 Ks

    It is ironic that the "Big 3" now moving to Worcester are all LH'ed hitters for a team that is already somewhat imbalanced with LHH'ers. Cora could probably field an all LH lineup next year as these guys mature. And in a park where the then owner created bullpens in RCF to help his star player, one of the best hitters 'All Time" , not hit so many warning track outs.

    I know many of you have been in a clubhouse or dugout or football bench area . How about a military installation or ship ? I still can use some of that 'daily vocabulary" when applicable. Jarren's mistake is that one of the unwritten rules of sports is Do Not Interact with or acknowledge the fans. They are not your friends

    That trend is pretty clear and definitive that the team can get to the A-S break well above .500 on adrenaline and good luck, but when the mojo wears off and the arms are dragging it's a downhill sled ride into the season end. Paxton was never going to be a big help or playoff pusher, but when I saw him drop in the first inning, I conceded that this team is snakebit and , in fact, will not avoid their now 3 year fateful slide into oblivion. OTH , 3 games back of Royal and 46 to go, why give it up ? There'll be plenty of September time for that concession speech.

    Garcia is another of the infamous 2 out per inning pitchers. Thinks he is still with the Angels. Poor play at Fenway continues for the Lost Boys

    I'm glad the BP will catch us up, because Wong certainly won't. Bernardino isn't tossing him cookies but the guy isn't handling spinning balls well.

    One cure for the pitching woes is for the hitters to wake up again and post 9-10 runs. Don't wait for the 7-8-9th to try and recover. See the ball, hit the ball.

    Here's how plays not made have unintended consequences. Alvarez hits a hot one hop to Dom Smith, Dom bobbles it off his glove, so Paxton realizes he has to cover first . Paxton tries to hustle off the mound and injures the lower leg. Alvarez gets on base, and the Sox go to the bullpen about 6 pitches into the game.

    Paxton done, maybe for awhile after 3 batters. The injury bug for Sox pitching rolls on.
