  1. Richard Fitts, meet your defensive specialists, fully ready to support your shutout effort
  2. If a team with RISP can't hit FB's nor Change ups , what's left. Flexen isn't throwing many breaking balls. No matter what anyone says about Story, the SSS is the counter argumnet
  3. Well, it is a day game aftera night game after 5 months of warmups, so don't expect much. Feel bad fore the poor teams that have to play into October. Fitts has pitched well enough to be a consideration for regular work. He has let 4 leadoff runners reach base but worked around them. Chicago is not the greatest measuring stick for a pitcher but it is the MLB, not AAA
  4. Maybe Sox try to bring him to Ft. Myers in February
  5. Dalbec joins a list of flameouts that have run through the Red Sox system over the past 10-15 years. All teams have guys who just can't cross the line into MLB but Bobby D. hung on longer than most.
  6. Casas comes off IL with some hitting but quickly reverts into the slump mode. Was there really any question that it would be a slow rebuild . He makes me miss Dom Smith
  7. The end of an era/error. Took forever to cancel Bobby D.
  8. Kyle Hudson . 3B coach, needs help from Gambler's Anon. Not his first bad call with Duran running. Then Abreu decides to run with 2 outs. Brain dead
  9. With the potential loss of this game, and only 19 to go, White Sox won't reach 40 wins
  10. Don't be fooled. Criswell gets away with some weak pitching to a bad team, and struggles getting the 3rd out, a common problem with some of our pitchers. But he is carrying the lead into the 5th, where AC will jerk him with 2 outs , lol
  11. Tyler O'Neill , who has not exactly won the Nation over, hits a 400' line drive about 50' off the ground that may have cleared Lansdowne had it not hit the banner preventing continued flight. AND with Raffy on base Very strong guy. It will be interesting to see who goes after him on what type of deal over the winter.
  12. Like I said , thew Sox are hitting very well and Crochet has no chance . Well, Criswell is still our pitcher, so who knows. Crochet has issues
  13. Here's an original idea , Cooper, let's give up a 2out, 2 run HR in the first, so the guys can play from behind . Especially because the Sox are hitting so well, it doesn't matter
  14. Allen Craig lives in my current hometown of Temecula, CA and I have met him on a few occasions . He worked with the Padres front office part time He has alluded to personal issues that affected him during his time in Boston, other than the foot condition.
  15. So the return of Trevor Story which should be quite a story in itself. Puts Rafaela on 2B to add to his repertoire of being all over the place this year. Much to his credit. Alas that means farewell to Mickey Gasper . Mickey will go down in the record books as having a lifetime BA of .000 , not entirely rare , but combined with an OPS of .250 Mickey did work 4 walks in his 16 PA's . He K'ed 9 of those 16 PA's, and unfortunately never scored .
  16. Having seen the rarest of rare in Sox Nation, a Friday night win at home, why not a big bat day vs Crochet ? If they can just get on a roll, it will keep us guessing as to which series or loss was the one that kept them out of the WC . There's a lot of candidates if the Red Sox miss by only a game or two.
  17. I think it is worthwhile that Story does come back and play this year, if only 10-15 games. No question he is part of the 2025 mix at 2B/SS as a full time player. He is one of the RH bats that are needed and his fielding skills at MI eclipse the valiant efforts of Rafaela, Valdez, Gonzalez, DHam . And just wait until Grissom matures into a player, LOL
  18. You're right, Max, if not the one thing it's another. Don't leave the game up to the umpires , give them a center cut and they will still miss it 3/4's of the time.
  19. It tells me there is no kid from Low A to Worcester who can throw wildly at 98mpoh and scare the crap out of the opponents . Hill, to me, is the indictment of Breslow. AND ONCE AGAIN, CORA MAY BE MAKING A STATEMENT TO THE FO AND OWNERSHIP.
  20. When an MLB pitcher cannot summon a strike, when needed, even if hittable , it is inexcusable. Better to give up the Slam again than walk 3 guys in.
  21. Sox now on the lip of the cup of their longest losing streak of the year ( 5)
  22. Much agreed. I understand Kenly to hold the line but there is no one behind him . Martin showed last night that no pitcher in a Beantown uniform can be relied upon.
  23. Rich Hill is probably a good neighbor and a great guy in the clubhouse but it is an insult for him to be pitching in a game that was winnable until Jansen messed it up with a terrible, out of control non-effort
  24. I truly think his extreme swing will cause him to "age" more quickly than he should. Both shoulders sore at 28 years old ? His knees, hips and neck are the next to watch for in 2025. I will credit him for playing a full season so far, a feat which O'Neill, Grissom, Story and many others failed to achieve
  25. Jansen about to put this one out of reach ?? Or GIDP Alonso ??
