I do rejoice in the story that Rowdy Tellez had a $200K bonus due if he could get 4 more AB's this year, as the Pirates cut him today. Screw Rowdy. I'm sure the MLBPA will protest loudly. -
Well it is a bit of a stretch BUT, if the Sox win out the next 4, and Tigers or Royals lose their remaining games, we are in the PLAYOFFS !!! The real shame is that it will probably come down to a couple losses in mid-late summer when the Sox had a lead late in the game, then the BP blew it. There are multiple examples. Or maybe it was getting swept by the Orioles April 10-11-12 then dropping game #1 to the Angels on the 13th ? Who knows which few games kept this team out of it ? Better ? , what difference does it make now ?

Even more amazing is that they could win out and miss the dance. Hope not, it would be too disheartening. Take the 81/82 wins and call it a success, Sam Kennedy. Something to build on

Did the Sox slide after the A-S break begin with acquisition of D. Jansen followed by Sims and Garcia. ? Did the clubhouse consensus become WTF? Jansen certainly relieved Wong of a significant amount of catching. Is he that much better than McGuire, who was not having a good year. Sims and Garcia were of no real effect. Weak choices, Brez

A viable Grissom, maybe platooning with Hamilton, could be a step up at 2B next year. No more Valdez, please. Sogard isn't the answer either. Gonzalez has value ( as may others in or out of the Sox system) by playing 1B and 3 B , though not real well.

F'ing Story K'ing with a man on 3rd and no outs, A DP would have tied the game. He is a veteran chaser, no excuse like the younger guys. Not likely to become a Story fan

Rafaela chases one pitch but delivers his 75th RBI with a sharp single with the bases loaded. Given the contract and ability to drive in runs, maybe the Sox should just work with him a little bit . The outfield play, undersstanding call offs would help too.
