    With Pearce intentionally drilled ( requiring payback by Joe Kelly later), the bench is now incredibly short . Maybe need to figure out how to deal with 12 pitchers , and get another position backup

    Plenty of time to win this one, but do not play into Happ's hand and encourage the Yankees to trade for him. You could see Severino, CC and Happ in the final series at Fenway in sept. However, going into that series with a 4 game lead, then f***'em.

    No reason for Price not to go all out and show the team he will be a player after the break. He gets plenty of time off since, incredibly, he did not get invited to DC . David can probably get a couple days of Fortnite in, without hurting his arm. Never liked this guy, ever, but if the hitters support him, I'll gladly take the win. guaranteeing that the NYY's will have the next full week to think about the implications of the WC play-in game. Hope the Sox make it a 13 gamer into the A-S break. P.S. Don't let the Yankees see Happ dominate you. Would only encourage them to go for him.

    Think Kimbrel is locked in ? Just not very efficient. This will be a 20+ pitch save, if he gets it done on this hitter. You can't tell me the HP umpire can actually see the 99-100mph pitches

    It is telling that Nunez is playing on a bad knee, which does affect strength, gait, push off power, back alignment, etc. He's still hitting in the .250's , which even Ted Williams did in his next to last year . This guy was signed as autility player to hold the fort until Pedey returned which isn't likely to occur. Can't explain why he has played way more than Holt but I expect that to balance out post A-S game. Everyone certainly entitled to their opinion but I'm ok with Nunez, as long as Cora rests him like some of the others.

    With apologies to Jeff Foxworthy, if you can't enjoy this current streak and the excellent play of this team virtually all season, if you can't enjoy rooting for the #1 winning team in baseball on its way to 106+- wins, then you just may be a Red Sox fan.

    Beeks uses 49 pitches to go 2.1, gives up a run, 4 hits, a walk, a HBP, and leaves runners at 2nd and 3rd with one out. Plus the out was a replay highlight dive by JBJr. Nothing to see here, and Cora did leave him in a bit long.

    Wait until the 8th when we bust out the whooping sticks. Let the other team dream for a few innings. Velazquez has done half his assignment, and he needs to keep the damage as is. So happy for those who thought just the idea of possibly needing another starter was a big waste of keystrokes/electrons. The next day, Wright went down and now Johnson is there too. 3 of your 13 pitchers were in Pawtucket very recently.

    Velazquez must have talked to a couple of the other starters in the dugout between innings to get some new guidance on HR's, 2 out walks, raise the pitch count, etc.
