  1. I tacked that on to last night's thread. If Colten or Tyler are pitching, it looks like a big lead and sure win for us. Got Walden today with a nice inning.
  2. He is certainly putting on a show. He has made the discussion around second base go from when do the IL guys get back, to so what when they get back if ever.
  3. Do we get Brewer and T'burg again with the now fat lead? They must be tired , try someone else, Alex
  4. Thanks, Bogey, you made the best of it with the missing salami
  5. Another run on the wild walk by Beni. Now Bogey gets his second try at a bases loaded situation in two innings. Time to bust it up Bogey.
  6. More like baloney than salami, but it rolls to third. scores a run and gets it done. Nunez is the rare example of a .160 hitter , subbing for a .158 hitter (Leon) and getting it done. The analytics history kept Nunez in and Betts sitting. That is funny. ( Nunez's 5 for 9, now 6 for 10, history vs Herrara)
  7. Now , Ed Nunez hitting in a key spot of the game while Mookie is ready ?
  8. That is 20 K's for Pearce in 50 AB's, a 40%K rate. Can't carry the WS MVP much further. All that was needed was a flyball to score an insurance run. Steve cannot make any contact
  9. Moreland gets the rbi's, even without much of an average. Just avoided the DP but it all counts.
  10. Devers is a trip on the bases but highly effective this time
  11. Brandon then woke up and came on pretty strong to shut off the White Sox
  12. Rather than throwing a lead off walk and having to try all those pitches, just give the hitter 4 fingers and save the energy expended.
  13. Messed that rally up with a bouncing DP ball
  14. Pearce, Bradley, Leon all combined are hitting about .430, just somewhat more than Chavis and JDM individually
  15. At least Leon was able to take the walk, clogging the bases in front of Beni , Bogey and JDM.
  16. Jackie is wrong when he tries to call pitches not hit them.
  17. So now it's a 3 inning game, if Rick can end the bottom 6th without more damage. Pitched a pretty good game, but why does Leon keep calling pitches that leave the park?
  18. 12 outs to get. Important for Rick to get the next 3 at around 100+ pitches total, then likely to see Walden, Brasier and Barnes try to hold the win. Yes, about 3 more runs would help.
  19. Cordell-o got himself a Porcello. Tight game today
  20. There is no player on the current Red Sox that I enjoy watching more than J D Martinez when he is hitting. I would buy out his current deal and extend him before any other player with an expiring contract after the 2019 season.
  21. I'm sure Pearce has some advocates for his somnolent bat eventually coming around, but I think his oversized contract is keeping him on the roster, especially with Chavis being a RH 1Bman possibility. regardless of his 2019 output, this is his farewell tour you are watching.
  22. 10 pitch AB leading to a 2 out walk by Chavis. That's a good sign of a maturing hitter. Can he go .350/1.250 for the full season ? That might be a RoY effort.
  23. At 16-18 after today, the Red Sox can finally see a .500 record on the near horizon. Final play by Devers to close it out shows that he definitely has some sreness in his left shoulder. He was rubbing and rotating it noticeably. But it didn't seem to hurt his bat the prior few days. See if he gets Sunday off.
  24. At some point T'burg and Brew man will need to answer for their transgressions. But a 15 run offense makes up for a lot of shortcomings in the back end of the pen. The fact we see Brewer and Thornburg pitching actually means we are doing well or they would be sitting.
