  1. A Red Sox rally 2019: A walk, an error on a DP ball, a rollover bouncer by Beni that gets misplayed by the A's. Strong response guys. Now it's Mookie's deal to deliver
  2. Montas gets 6 outs on 14 pitches, thanks to the 2 DP's. Rodriguez uses 52 pitches to give up 4 runs and get the same 6 outs.
  3. I will say that Devers swing looks a lot better and stronger than a week or two ago. But another DP and basically another nothing inning.
  4. The first inning turned into a dud for Boston, now down 4 , let's see if there is any response or heartbeat.
  5. Those two would make a nice trade tandem, if anyone needed a LH thrower and the world's best CF'er.
  6. Now Rodriguez's pitch count pace will eventually lead to another bullpen game, if the walks don't get him first.
  7. Profar hitting .162 gets 2 runs home ( both walks) on a 2 strike count. Some things are just predictable
  8. Low confidence in your stuff and ability leads to f***ing nibbling and big trouble.
  9. Let's see if we can run on Laureano in Fenway
  10. Can anyone let this poor guy die a natural death by baseball mediocrity ? Endless moaning pro/con about Blake Swihart while the team that is on the field is dying by a thousand paper cuts. Let Blake go and focus on WTF is wrong with the overall play of the guys who are here.
  11. It's not quite May yet , and will certainly be interesting to see where this bunch is come Memorial Day. But to find themselves more than week (7.5 games) behind the Rays, and effectively the Yankees, before the end of April is amazing . Failing to score much at Fenway may be a tribute to the Rays pitching, but the pure ineptitude so far of the JBJr, and Pearce is not helping. Pre-injury limited results from Holt, Nunez, Pedey were not encouraging. Leon is what you might expect, but at least Vazquez is making contact with a few well hit balls. Moreland is slumping as he does annually, and JDM has back spasms which can be a mental thing as well as physical when you are a serious hitter. Chris Sale at 0-5, with a 6.30 ERA and a 1.40 WHIP, plus a 5 year deal is totally inexplicable, but put some heat on the hitters for some of that non-support.
  12. More than justified . He should be coming into his own with the bat, for power and average, while showing some steady play at 3B, not the inconsistency of great stops and throws surrounded by nonchalant errors. It doesn't seem that Ortiz's mentoring made a big impression.
  13. Here's a preliminary scouting report. Do not throw him FB's; sliders and change up curves until he shows he can hammer them.
  14. Mr. Chavis will certainly get a big opportunity to show what he can contribute to the underperforming team he has joined. Lots of potential and inexperience that will make his transition to an everyday regular a bumpy ride, possibly including ups and downs to/from Pawsox. Right now, the team has the options on him so he's movable. One problem is the logjam in front of him, specifically at 2B. You cannot stall Michael's progress by carrying him on the bench. Therefore the Sox need to deal with Pedroia's situation, Nunez's problems, and Brock Holt, all 3 of whom cost a good deal more than MLB minimum Chavis. I do not think Pedroia will voluntarily retire this year so looking at possible 60 day IL, if he can't truly comeback. Nunez may be a surprise DFA , with Holt resuming his utility role. Tzu Wei Lin better have kept his apartment in Pawtucket. Look for Chavis to be a bigger factor post A-S game when some of these decisions will manifest themselves.
  15. Whether it is 2 games or 22 games from Pedey, this is a likely scenario. Chavis certainly has the power but could use more experience at bat and at 2B. He is definitely part of the near future plans, like Rafael Devers was.
  16. Giselle's panties or better yet, her thongs could help these guys get a little better.
  17. Chavis showing some of his inexperience , last night and just now. needed to eat the ball and hold the runner to third.
  18. Castillo for bottom 9 ?? So you mean there is a chance !
  19. So true. The 7 HR's are most welcome but not indicative of a consistently good hitter. Mitch would be a strength at #6/#7 , but who else in this lineup should be at #3 ? If you say JDM which is a good choice, who hits 4th. ?
  20. Correct assessment. The batter in that weak effort needed to run. He shall go unnamed as to not hurt his chances of a big future contract.
  21. Trying to link the Red Sox with the Bruins double overtime loss, here's a comment and a question for those in the hockey know: 1. The Bruins offense reminds me of the Red Sox. lots of swings, several misses. Did not see a lot of organized , coordinated offensive play. 2. Is Zdeno Chara on the ice for EVERY opposition goal or does it just seem that way ???
  22. Good thing it's early and plenty of chances to turn the Titanic around, Capt. Cora
  23. Moreland is as bad at times as the rest of them, hitting .217, 0-5 today
  24. I believe you need to have 2 or more on base to get IF rule
  25. if Beni had gotten Lin to 2B, there would not have been a force out
