But to find themselves more than week (7.5 games) behind the Rays, and effectively the Yankees, before the end of April is amazing . Failing to score much at Fenway may be a tribute to the Rays pitching, but the pure ineptitude so far of the JBJr, and Pearce is not helping. Pre-injury limited results from Holt, Nunez, Pedey were not encouraging. Leon is what you might expect, but at least Vazquez is making contact with a few well hit balls. Moreland is slumping as he does annually, and JDM has back spasms which can be a mental thing as well as physical when you are a serious hitter.
Chris Sale at 0-5, with a 6.30 ERA and a 1.40 WHIP, plus a 5 year deal is totally inexplicable, but put some heat on the hitters for some of that non-support.
