  1. Remy says about the same thing. Keep your head/eyes in the zone and don't let the lead shoulder fly out.
  2. Can you imagine any referee calling a penalty shot late in the third of a tie game in the Finals. Never happen
  3. Maybe Devers could talk with Chavis and say, Kid, I know how you feel, I was there once long ago. Cut that swing down and keep your head down too.
  4. Bruin 3-2, on a third period penalty shot at 19:55
  5. Sale does have 8 K's in 6 full innings but with only 73 pitches thereby saving his arm and the bullpen load, who may be needed tomorrow in the early start time game.
  6. I'll take a wild chance that Weber gets 4 decent innings, maybe 2 runs, then Velazquez for 3 with 1 run, Walden, Barnes and Workman shut KC down for a 5-3 win and a sweep. If that is how it plays out, please send money for my next prediction
  7. Especially when your first line is scuffling, but no names , please
  8. Never forget the Dolphins too. That should be 5-6 wins per year right there. How have those 3 teams stunk it up for about 15 years , never getting much better ?
  9. This is one of those "that's baseball" games. Sale remains sharp, with a low pitch count, but gets lots of run support JDM gets 3 shots at an rbi and hits nothing balls, leaves 5 LOB in 5 innings. JBJr clears the bases for 3 rbis by going oppo, which we all beg him to do. It will cure the shifters too, if he does. Chavis shows why he needs some help and a new mindset. Holt with another multi-hit game Leon with a double.
  10. Not wishing Chavis any ill, and hope he can be a big part of the future, probably at 1B. It's just so obvious that unless he makes some real changes in his approach at the plate, he will get abused by any pitcher with some control. needs more experience at a slightly lower level.
  11. Actually glad to see him hitting. The team needs his actualization, not his potential, and tonight he's all over it
  12. 3rd time with RISP, JD. Time to rip
  13. Imagine Junis pitching around JBJr. Helps the OBP though, which helps grow the OPS
  14. There are some very smart people on this site but those that think Chavis is ready at bat for this level make me wonder what it is I am missing. his fielding exceeds his hitting. He needs a lot more experience and getting it here may pay at the end of the day, or it may sink him like a few before him. When Moreland or Pearce get back, I trust it will be Michael's turn to rest.
  15. Could be a long night for Mr. Junis. Beni was banging, but JD misses the rbi opportunity
  16. If you were in DD's shoes post WS 2018, wouldn't Ottavino at $9MM cause you to make a few other adjustments to be able to afford him ? Just amazing that a WS winner, with a $230-$240MM budget range would spend under $6MM on the keys pen guys , 2.5% of budget. I don't think you can underestimate the impact of the dead money contracts on this team going back to Hanley, Panda and regrettably now Pedey.
  17. Aren't Boston fans and more so media well known for loving some and blinding others ? Some can deal with it and prosper. Others get sunburned quickly. Plenty of examples both ways. I'm sure all of us can contribute a few. For starters, try Carl Crawford as a loser, throw in Buchholz too as a sensitive guy, Adrian Gonzalez may fit as one who didn't like being in Boston.. On the plus side, Ortiz comes to mind. Bogey and now Devers are young guys who have made a mark all the way through World Series wins. Schilling rose to occasion , as did Tiant and Pedro. Guys who matured in losing team , small market organization would be risk factors coming to the AL East.
  18. If Dave D is thinking or already determined that the Sox will not resign Porcello, it's hard to believe that he will not move Rick by the trade deadline to a contender needing a steady arm. This should be done regardless of whether the Sox are contending or not, to get value from Rick. It would be strange to let him play out the season wherever the Sox end up and then turn Porcello loose over the 2019/2020 winter. Please note, this does not advocate trading him, unless DD won't make a valid run at him for an extension , sooner than later.
  19. Please keep this monthly+- recap going. Regrettably for everyone including Jackie, it is an epic weak single season to date.
  20. Like how Brasier got refocused pounding the strike zone at 97 to get the third out after giving up a couple shots earlier. But a high leverage guy. Not really
  21. Like the European soccer leagues, if you can't win at least 60, the team reverts to AAA for a season, where it has to win its league to get back to MLB.
  22. The Red Sox over the decades always had some great OF's, sometimes bats, sometimes gloves. Well up until now, LOL
  23. JD back above .300. Can only hope this is the start of a big run for him. Looks like the back is back. Scores from first , running hard. I think he is ok.
  24. Brasier will get the ball in the 9th with the 4 run lead.
