  1. Munoz, Lin and Arauz are in your lineup, among other things
  2. In a take off on Coo;l Hand Luke, "What we have here is a failure of confidence"
  3. It's an odd perpetuation of a trend going back to Jon Lester's days where Red Sox pitchers struggle in the first, as if they were not properly warmed up or realize that the mound is different than the pen. Anyway, Ryan has stabilized and kept them in the game
  4. Arauz is a f***wit at second
  5. Wonder if Benintendi watches Verdugo at leadoff or anywhere in the lineup and says to himself, " I wish I could do that?"
  6. Weber has nothing tonight. Another BP game
  7. How would you like to see the world through Joe West's eyes or be behind him in a buffet line ?
  8. Yairo Munoz at DH ? What am I missing here?
  9. Too much info , MVP . Lighten up on the electron usage.
  10. Ol' Rusney is done this year , isn't he ? I'm wondering if Pedey can actually walk . A personal suspicion that his medical advice and procedures were not right for him, and when combined with an aggressive rehab program Dustin cooked his own goose. Many players in all major sports recover sufficiently to play well from knee injuries . Pedey should have been no exception.
  11. There is that, and it will help considerably to begin the reload. Still it will be questionable through the next several months as to what the 2021 season will look like at the outset
  12. That must have been the fall of the ages to bust him up that much. Rib injuries can be extremely sensitive and likely better that he just takes off and gets healed. Beni has an awful lot to prove next season as his 2 year deal will end in 2021. For our sake, hope he is not the next Red Sox teaser wipeout.
  13. Pretty much agreed. Baseball managerial/coaching changes ore 90% players and 10% BV factor. Forgetting the pitching, the position players did not seem ready for the first 1-15 games, except for X. Vaz, JBJr, Pillar opened up reasonably well but the trio of Beni, Devers, JDM made the bad pitching look even worse. That may be on RR and his crew of coaches. On the other hand , even Joe Maddon with all his motivational gimmicks can't make the Angels anything except the next worse (marginally) team to the Sox.
  14. With the mini-dramas of the short season trade deadline now past, and the Win 1-Lose2 season down to just 25 more miserable games, the bloom is fully off this 2020 season. The level of interest in the current bunch of players is below Zero. Robinson Leyer, IMO, is the perfect poster boy for this year. A 27 year old making his very first appearance on a major league mound. Got 3 outs, gave up 2 hits, a walk, an earned run to score his 9.00 ERA. And Robinson was just one of 24 throwers who took the mound in the first 35 games, 22 if you don't count the mop-ups by Plawecki and Peraza. Surprised Chaim still had Leyer's phone number.
  15. Much prefer seeing Pillar on a one year deal, maybe with option, at his price than signing JBJr , even at 50% of his 2021 price. I do not believe Jackie will find riches and a long (5 yr) deal available in this winter's FA market. Way too many unknowns re: Covid and the 2021 season, plus Jackie's now well documented streakiness. In any case Pillar would be a fill-in while Bloom makes other plans for the future, so go with the cheaper guy for now.
  16. Not enough skill players on the ice.
  17. Michael Chavis is not really capable of being a professional hitter. Another future Sox washout
  18. Bruins either playing their last period of 2020 or starting a nice comeback in the series. 1-1 in the 3rd.
  19. Brewer in over his head in the 5th. Can he bail it out? Basic answer is now, RR pulls him out and says to the next guy up, Valdez, here you clean this pig crap up.
  20. Barring a delayed announcement, the deadline also passes with JBJr in his last month with the Red Sox. No idea what Bloom's discussions with other GMs about Jackie entailed but obviously he didn't draw enough payoff to make a deal. This is one guy for whom FA is going to be a long, unrewarding slog through this particular winter.
  21. There is a hidden factor looming over the 2021 season which may limit some big time FA type deals , possibly JDM's opt out decision. ST is a mere 5 1/2 months from starting. Covid, combined with the flu, will still be present and very unlikely to have a tested vaccine available widely, if at all. The debate will rage on about how to deal with sports in general. Revenues from fan attendance and all its peripheral income will be uncertain. 2021 will start off about as much a wild card as 2020 turned into. I think big player moves and signings will be weak over the winter .
  22. The Bruins drank the Sox flavored Kool-Aid earlier. Tough to rebound 3-1 with Halak or the B's lack of scoring. Sort of like pitching and hitting in baseball.
  23. Follows it up chasing a low outside pitch with men on second/third and no outs. Almost any contact scores a run
  24. Nice double by JBjr , getting some insurance for Workman
