  1. Good beginning for Devers who looks alive and well with the bat in hand. Now if we shut them out for 21 more outs , it's a win
  2. 9 games over the next week+ to turn around the "death Spiral" and reclaim the high ground in the AL East. Need a 6-3 week+ to get on track. One question , by holding Sale until next Saturday, a full week after his last rehab start, the Sox will insure that he only gets 1 start in this critical stretch. No idea how he will do when facing real hitters, but I'd rather see 2 starts over these 9 games than 1.
  3. Nine critical games to be played over the next 8 days which could feature a recovery of position vs the Rays and Yankees or a continuation of the death spiral . One issue is that Chris Sale only gets used in one of those games, and I will guess Kyle Scwarber does not play at all. Why does Sale need a week between his last rehab start and going into play . If he pitched on Friday vs the O's , he might have gone vs the Yankees next Wednesday. Just seeing very little urgency by FO to win now.
  4. 2nd/3rd no outs , Martinex/Dalbec AB's, still second/third but 2 outs, no runs added
  5. Plawecki makes me forget the other catcher's name. Something with a Z at the end
  6. Oh here it comes, Richards with a 2 run lead, and 24 outs to go. Looks like some of the hitters got a little mojo today
  7. Big hit by Kike to add to Ryu's bad day
  8. Plawecki makes Vaz look like a bad dream
  9. Without the stick'um, he can't spin it fast enough
  10. Do we owe Bozo haired Richards for 2022, maybe just a buy out ? He is either destined for the phantom IL/Covid protocol or just a straight DFA wherre he can pick up about $2.5 million more in unearned income
  11. 2 @ 2 out hits so we can play from behind.
  12. That is how to step up and close the door, O. Great job
  13. There are moments when you can make a difference, that was one, Rafi
  14. And Bloom has said he is very interested too
  15. Maybe an 8 run inning here off this pitcher with the former 0.63 ERA ??
  16. Barnes gets a hold, of himself and his now dirty Depends after that shot
  17. Very much with you on that. That is far from the first time Vazquez has run into outs this year
  18. I will not say anything negative about the dildo now pitching
  19. Cora and his coaches do need to answer for some of the incredibly stupid base running moves by their players . if the players are running on their own, fine them big. if they are being signaled, bench the coach
  20. Cordero sucks worse than imaginable. Vaz is thinking what, speed to burn
  21. Glad to see Verdugo get past the warning track power and clear the wall. Makes it an interesting challenge to see if there is one more run 9in this lineup
  22. Coming into the 13th inning today, with a combined 5 hits . That is, the problem now exceeding the pitching issues. Both these games were eminently winnable .
  23. Oh, I see. Schwarber is actually the new conditioning coach . In seriousness, I will not be in the least surprised if with 5 days of actually playing 1B , Schwarber will be back on IL with torn hammy needing surgery.
  24. I think he's a #2, right behind Pivetta, and that new guy Schwarber. When does he pitch?
  25. Admittedly did not see the first few innings, but you guys make it sound like Houck got slammed. Looks like 1 run and 3 hits with 6 K's in 3 2/3rds. What would Perez and Richards give fr that line. ? I understand he has no evidence of going 5 or 6 innings but Pivetta saved the BP in game 1.. Now just sit back and enjoy the 12 th straight scoreless RS at bats.
