  1. Bogaerts, after several days in a hotel room, remains the professional hitter on this team
  2. Why don't the Sox have players like Kopech and Moncada ?/ What---we did ?? That's where TJ and Covid ravaged Chris Sale came from? Who knew ? Fire the GM
  3. I stick with my empirical , unscientific, non-WAR observation that relief pitchers drop off the cliff at about 20 pitches +- in effectiveness. If you give hitters 4-5 pitches per AB, 3 outs to max at 15 pitches, and allow for one hit or walk, and that's 20. If you work above that , you better figure out how to develop an out pitch
  4. Darwinzon is to some degree the LH Houck, but at least he i sin the pen not trying to go 4 innings. No real command but throws stuff that is hard to pick up in a one inning stint
  5. One of Moon's correct points is that the Red Sox may never have fielded the "real team" once or twice this year, if ever. The current grabbag of uniforms includes players who were never intended to be in a WC (forget pennant) race. It is not even worth being frustrated with them, except they came so close , because this is a .500 team with still gaping holes to be filled off season.
  6. Orioles going nuts, up 6-3 bottom 7
  7. I'm going to call Danny S. Pops for the obvious reason. One great thing about the off season '21-'22 will be seeing about 10 non-competitive meat balls get dumped from this roster. Iggy is Pops2
  8. There is that. The result of 12 pitch ABs is usually a walk or hit, not the swing K
  9. This team has trouble bunching base runners with HRs unlike Jays, White Sox ,etc. I'm glad for Dalbec but it won't change the game much
  10. Pronoun references go back to the last name mentioned, unless one use the former/latter designations to leap across the language divide. Meanwhile Dalbec shows more reason he may be developable
  11. Cora pulls Houck at least 1 if not 2 batters late, proving for sure that his future may be in the BP
  12. Cora needs to go get him now, it is about to get ugly
  13. Houck is just throwing now, no clue, no plan, no movement on the ball
  14. You can't spell sack of sh.... without the letters in Santana
  15. Iggy will be gone before mid month. Shows little to no ongoing ability to play the game at the plate or in the field
  16. Rafi should look at all his hitting video for this week to see he is messed up
  17. The TJ or blow the labrum out . Another reason Tanner needs to go BP next year
  18. Sox hitters make me think of Smucker's JAM jobs
  19. And the pitchers often give up the long ball to the most obvious guy to work around.
  20. Jays just tied the O's 3-3. Guess who will win that standoff?
  21. Vaz with a great throw to pick Jiminez. Houck was never going to get strike 3 and is now mental toast. Do not bring him out for the 4th BTW, score 4 runs or the Red Sox are toast
  22. Sure sign of a pitcher who is a thrower that cannot prevent that happening by staying in the strike zone
  23. Awful pitch on 3-2, 2 outs. Damn determined to fall behind. Houck needs to be seriously considered for the BP next year, not the rotation
  24. Missed strike 3 , though. When you have a man at third less than 2 outs, you have one job. Iggy failed
