    Every pitch to Stanton and then Gallo was a curveball or change until barnes/Vaz decided to go FB and end the 22 pitch effort with no damage. Good for Barnes.

    Assuming this one is already over , it will be interesting to see if Cora will have the latitude to have both Eovaldi and Sale both available for the WC game , by winning about of 6 of the next 7. Knowing Cora's tendency, if it turns out to be Cole vs Eovaldi's turn, Cora will go with EO .

    At least this game will end the powder blue/babyshit yellow uniforms.Had expected to have to tolerate them all weekend as the Sox ended the Yankees season but now suspect that next week's games will be important than should have been necessary

    The chUMP is doing the worst he can do, and that is be inconsistent on balls just off the plate. Nate is doing the worst he can do. getting blownout, every ball hit a ton

    When these next 9 games are finished and whatever happens, I will contend that this one game tonight was the key matchup that highly influenced the outcome. Nate looking like crap when having 2 strikes on Yankee batters

    Cole runs through the lineup first time with no real trouble.

    No bloops nor bleeders in that hot shot half inning. All hard hit balls other than Stanton's roller but it scored one too

    Hard to imagine once again watching a Red Sox - Yankee meaningful game. LeMahieu works EO for a 3-2 hit.

    Finally the schedule is trued up and with 9 games to go, RedSox have recovered the August swoon to be 2 up on NY, 3 on Blue Jays and 4 on Seattle. Oakland is on mathematical life support. I think the Sox could go 5-4 and be one of the WCs , 6-3 would be WC1, playing one game at Fenway to get into the ALDS. How many one game playoffs and WS #7's have we seen over the last 50 years that make you wonder about home field advantage ?

    Just win tonight's game to send the message that NYY can't stick with us. Fade like the sunset. Oh and do NOT let Brett Gardner beat you in the 9th inning.

    If you still have concerns about the Sox pitching, rest easy. Cy Young himself has not won a game since Sept 22, 1911. All will be well

    Win the first game of that series and the rest will be survivable. Lose the first game and the tension will be thick

    As Perez points out on ESPN broadcast, the Mets defense, at least in this game, is truly bad. Makes our guys look like gold glovers

    Otto challenging Matt for the last seat in the BP. These guys may be legitimately worn out due to the heavy bullpen usage all year, but this won't get them beyond the WC game

    JBJ hitting somewhere in the .170's this year. Must be that the NL doesn't use a DH
