    On behalf of Hunter R., I still advocate enclosing the Fenway triangle in deepest center field . No question that the Sox hit more balls there than any one opposing team.

    His nibbling pitches and overall lack of apparent intensity about the work make him seem lazy or not wanting to get involved. If you were looking for a #4 , make him a QO, not much to lose if he goes. For a guy who should/could be your #2.5 , I would not go big contract, that being anything over 3 years/$40MM

    It may just be a bad day for Pivetta but the reality is, the game must be won , so a very short leash is needed. He has messed up as much as can be allowed today

    Now that Pivetta should be warmed up and rescued by his hitters, maybe he can get a quick inning. Anything else should get him DFA'ed in mid-game

    Pivetta will turn this into a BP game early. The opposing pitcher may be worse but our guys may never get to the bottom of the first.

    Just a quick observation, given that Iglesias has turned out to be a contributing player on both offense and defense BUT not be eligible for the post season was he released by the Angels early enough that Bloom could have picked him up timely? I think there was a few day lag between the release by LAA and the BoSox pickup, which I noted in a thread at that time.
