  1. Is 11 runs in an inning a crooked number or just goalposts ? Someone may have already posted it but the modern record for runs by one team in a game was the 30 in 2007, scored by the Rangers over the Orioles.
  2. Jays score in every single inning. If it wasn't for the one spot in the first, they are all crooked numbers. Aside from responses by Vaz, Plawecki, and humorously JBJr , this group is dead.
  3. Multiple terrible plays tonight , exacerbated by pure trash pitching, make me wonder if somehow the cumulative effect of expecting major roster moves of veteran players have made the clubhouse a lost cause this year. This has little to do with Cora's baseball smarts but clearly he cannot motivate or control these clowns. He may well need to go tomorrow. Or maybe Bloom's handling of the roster since ST is the factor. I want to reserve special thoughts for Dildo Duran and his play on the inside-the-park-HR . It wasn't even that he lost the ball off the bat , it is that once it landed at the warning track he barely made a move towards it . Stands like a statue becomes part of the machine. Dugo had to come from LF just to recover the ball. I hope the great hope in CF is sent down immediately after the game
  4. JBJr's throw from short right field was not good. No throw matters if it doesn't follow a line that a play can be made on. Nate, nice knowing you.
  5. I guess the DP didn't materialize on that one.
  6. Really expecting more from EO after the break, but he is washed up as a frontline starter also
  7. Definitely agree. If that ball somehow had hit his glove faced towards the wall, it would have likely bounced out
  8. It should send Dalbec and Cordero a message when they see Vaz playing first and Plawecki getting a hit. Hey, guys, this place isn't for you
  9. Jackie with a big time ($8MM ?) buyout option has made himself a certainty to not be a tradable commodity. The Sox could send him along with about $11-$12 million to another team if they could find someone that desperate for a late inning defensive replacement or pinch runner.
  10. Check the bat rack. Jeter Downs may have picked up JBK's bat, the one that has never made contact.
  11. JBK strikes out on what should have been ball 4. The pitching strategy vs the Sox becomes obvious---throw no strikes because Boston will chase out of the zone
  12. Good for Vaz and Kevin P. to work over Gausman. I'm JBJ will follow with a 3 run jack
  13. Vaz could teach these idiots how to approach an AB
  14. Julio David solidifies his future with back spasms while enjoying a coast to coast private jet ride. What no masseuse or chiropractor assigned to the ride ?
  15. I personally am a Vaz fan, enjoying watching a medium talent guy succeed, while the All-Stars around him flounder. But Moon told me I couldn't keep him .
  16. Might as well light a fire here, but : 1. I don't see the '22 Sox as a team that can win in the playoffs, if they make it. 2. The Sox may actually benefit in 2023 from getting some compensation for Nate, JDM, Bogey and Vaz now, starting a remake of this team. 3. Offer Chris Sale , picking up 50% of his salary to get a younger starter. These guys won it all in 2018 but it is now 4 seasons later and they are less productive on the back half of their careers
  17. The trend of falling behind immediately remains . Let's see if they can respond with 2 runs. Jays make a tough play on Duran. The balls hit to Devers right and to Bogey's left were just enough to be hits, followed by a swinging virtual bunt for the run.
  18. Interesting comment because it is exactly what Michelle told me when we dated briefly after their breakup. Needless to say, we ended it because she wasn't a Red Sox fan
  19. All I can say to these injury reports and updates is that this team will be loaded , apparently right after the Astro series and the trade deadline. This makes Bloom's job all the harder because he can't sell damaged goods ( though he bought Schwarber last year while injured). And he doesn't know who will be effective after they return. The next 11 games will speak for themselves giving some guidance on buying/selling. Chaim will be blasted no matter what he does, including a no moves possibility.
  20. Is that because they only had one baseball available and wanted Hill to get plenty of work in ?
  21. The first game in this 11 game string , all but 1 at Fenway, to determine if this team as currently composed can make yet another run deep into WC contention. Is this the April & pre A-S version of the Sox, or the June avengers of all that is evil in the world ? One thing you can count on--- they will be inconsistent . So many guys looking at possibly the end of their Boston career or the latest in WC teams that go against all odds to win the WS ? Red Sox team, you choose .
  22. Of the 11 games before the literal deadline, I'm guessing 4-7 against these opponents , and Bloom will be very tempted to move Bogaerts and/or JDM, only to see August/September attendance fall off sharply, amid calls for his head.
  23. Watching JDM flail away at the A-S game in his first AB told me he doesn't do that low outside thing just for our entertainment. But to broadcast to the Bb World that he roll s like that on a big stage just cost us in potential returns in a couple weeks.
  24. Been in I Ortiz's beautiful Mexico for the past week and out of touch. I trust we swept the Ray's, punishing the Yankees and Sale is hot as a firecracker. Tell me it ain't so, AC
