  1. Meanwhile Winck on the verge of blowing up, insuring no starter gets a win in July 2023 But bailed himself out with the 3-6-3 DP. Way to go
  2. And his ridiculous 2023 buyout of $8 million will cost the team another OF'er who could actually hit. A renfro equivalent. But , you know JBJr will be there in Ft. Myers for St anyway, while Bloom tries to move his $11 or $12 million salary, unsuccessfully
  3. I think we keep hoping against reality that somehow 6PM August 2 that the Sox will get 3 new slugging hitters and 2 starting pitchers, with about 60 games left to bail out the season. Here's reality, at best incoming players will be prospects for '23 and beyond. Maybe 1 throw-in veteran OF'er? And if someone has you believing that on August 2 you will get the IL list cleared for action, the only good news i see is that Devers should be back, but probably JDM gone ( not that it matters recently). Rich Hill pitching in Houston doesn't warm me up. Sale and Story are not back for all of August, if then. Taylor is done for the year (IMO). Paxton needs a ST. This team is more likely to go 20-40 over the last 60 than 30-30. Today's lineup features 5 consecutive batters with sub .700OPS, including Yolmer's astounding .087/.309. By comparison, Brewers have one hitter at .695OPS, all others above .700 including 1 at .815, the aforementioned Mr. Renfro.
  4. It did not seem egregious on Davis's part. Bogey lined the first pitch direct to CF and I think Davis would have been 50-50 trying to go to third. I did not put that one on any lack of Davis's effort.
  5. The tried and true formula for July Red Sox: Fall behind in 1st or 2nd inning, play from behind until 8th or 9th , then bat 4 guys with .200/.500 OPS. Sox 1st inning; men on 1st/2nd no outs, then 1st/3rd 1 out---Don't score on a DP from your best current hitter. Honestly , you can't make up some of this stuff.
  6. But Hunter Renfro busts Wink's bust in my HoF. Hunter pushes pie in the face of Bloom
  7. X may be getting hotter with the bat, but JDM may still finish the second half of July in an Oh-fer slump . Feel bad for him and us.
  8. Winckowski-- first RS pitcher to ever DP Rowdy Tellez. Josh is now in my HoF
  9. And insurrect in the executive offices if Brasier is followed by Sawamura
  10. The 'fans" turn cannibal in the presence of hunger for wins
  11. That was an exceptionally weak effort to start the game , but with Duran, you have so many choices of immature, low skill plays.
  12. Another series loss. A losing season record at Fenway. Not one win by a starter in July with 1 to go. JDM , oh for-ever in second half . Story is a fairy tale of lost horizons. Sale, the sad clown I know it is unrealistic but there should be more DFA's Tuesday than trades. No other GM would take some of these pillow stuffers
  13. Start the thread, please. I am officially ineligible due to this loss, which was simply taking one for the team.
  14. Sawamura gets an out on his first pitch. Too bad it wasn't the third out because between a passed ball by Vaz and another Brewer HR off Saw-job, it is now 9-4. Might be a hair too much for a comeback
  15. It's on e the 7 signs of a successful reliever. They don't know the other 6 .
  16. Cora continues with strange workings of the much maligned bullpen. Using Brasier in 2 innings and following with Sawamura says that the game is over , not worth competing. This game was 5-4 after 7, then Diekman, and Brasier moved it to 7-4 with 1 on, 1 out
  17. Brewers get a run vis Diekman and Brasier ( sac fly) without a hit. Just enough to make any comeback that much harder
  18. I knew Diekman could not get through a 1-2-3 inning. I figured a walk, but Jake wanted to hit a guy in the foot, of course with no one out. Once again, Cora's bullpen roulette comes up a zero f*** you , Diekman . a HBP, walk, WP puts them at 2/3rd
  19. Dugo must have hit 100 "At'em" balls this year right into some stiff like Tellez's glove
  20. Sox on fire with JDM up with MoB, 2 runs in Thanks , JDM, for the flyball and the memories. Picked up that run making it a game again, 5-4.
  21. Arroyo back with two hits, and Jaylin Davis with 2 hits . Other than that it is Dugo and Vaz once again the only ones with a hit in this lineup. All of this slumping happening in Fenway where the batters should be most comfortable.
  22. Turns out to be a hairline fracture in the wrist area. In any event, they will rest if for a couple weeks, then decide it needs a screw or two to stabilize and heal.
  23. Next Tuesday at 6PM EDT, some players will be happy to find themselves still on the Red Sox active roster. On the other hand they may consider the fact that no other GM valued them sufficiently to want to acquire them. Or maybe that Chaim overvalued them. Could go either way.
  24. JDM continuing his epic slump. Even a soft line drive cannot find a hole. He could easily finish July in an Oh for 25+- position.
  25. Kaleb Ort ( to be elsewhere) throwing up a 2 out 4 pitch walk before whiffing whoever Milwaukee had at bat.
