  1. love the fact, the 'Stros gave Vaz #9
  2. If you think the Sox can beat the Astros 2 straight at their home, you are nuts. vaz will turn this around quick. Just setting up the irony of accomplishing a major feat by winning a series
  3. My reality is a little different than some. The BP is performing on the road, in particular. The core of it for 2023 doesn't look so weak ( Whitlock, Houck, Schreiber, maybe Strahm, maybe Taylor comes back.). I detest Matt Barnes but who knows ?? If Bard is worth a 2 year deal in CO, then maybe Matty can dig himself out of his ditch and pitch again. Not likely but he did it once for 3 months.
  4. Kaleb Ort, might as well. If this works for Cora it sets up tomorrow nicely. Trouble is, you can only play the game you are currently in, not tomorrow's tonight.
  5. Cora either pulls Davis now, or lose the game 6-2 Being positive, here comes a DP
  6. Nobody better than Broderick Crawford in Highway Patrol
  7. Davis loves pitching up in the zone. he will get killed here
  8. Just one of the many services I provide. I'm running a special on sarcasm and irony this month
  9. Sawamura pitches better when he does not ponytail his locks
  10. Duran may have had a better shot at Altuve's blooper. Pham trying too hard with limited ability.
  11. Combined BA's/OPS for these two guys is .235/.737. It would be hard to find two worse back to back in a lineup
  12. Everyone knows Altuve is a first pitch swinger, so he gets a middle Fb, instead of a slider off the plate.
  13. Does the non-moves on JDM and Eovaldi say more about their desirability to a contender, or more about Bloom's requirement for a better payoff ? They can still be moved via waiver but it's more messy than an outright trade. My concern remains that although this team could actually get back into the WC race, the weight of evidence to date still says no, and not competitive for a championship. I think they should have been moved, still respecting their contributions, same as Vazquez
  14. 15 minutes to make some lemonade at Minute Maid Park.
  15. Other accounts now circulating say that Vaz had a pretty sure idea via AC that he was going to Houston. He apparently asked Ac to take a last BP with the Sox. It was late in the day but not quite the PR blunder that it was made out to be.
  16. Maybe he will bite Aaron Judge in the kneecap during the next meeting of these two teams
  17. Devers better be back today and hitting. I looked at the 40 man roster and we have 4 guys on 60 day IL, so they don't count against the 40 . You could justify a DFA against at least 8 others, not on IL, starting with Yolmar Sanchez.
  18. yes, a few million per year will help your hurt feelings over the business side of baseball. I do think it was a weak way to handle a long term veteran player.
  19. Maybe Hosmer will be a Mitch 2bags, which would be welcome. Anyone with an OPS over .700 is an upgrade to 2/3s of the recent starting lineup and all of the bench sitters.
  20. I was in sporting goods store recently and looked at some pro level goods. Gloves are $150-$250 and wood bats are around $100+
  21. I may be blind but did the Astros have 5 infielders vs Arroyo and only 2 OF'ers. Tell me it ain't so, Joe
  22. No way these guys were going to compete vs the Astros. All this game ( so far) proves is that it was Vaz who held them back, conforming to Moon's assessment of Red Sox catching .
  23. I have noticed that MLB players have really nice gloves, whether it is the Rawlins Trapeze or the Wilson A2000 which has been around for about 200 years
  24. So who will be the closer tonight ??? I actually don't care because I penciled this series in as an 0-3 , so no disappointment no matter what they do. I would like to see Nate get the win though.
