  1. This is the A's with some weak hitters, but the Bernadino-Pivetta combo is developing into a good replacement for a starter.
  2. Sox hitters in a funk again need to WTFU.
  3. Certainly no joy in seeing a former multi-Cy Young winner go out of his career on a sour note. And we could have used him.
  4. With Paxton going tomorrow, will Wong need to catch him or go to Alfaro? Wong will benefit greatly from the A-S break.
  5. Pivetta with 4 strong innings, maybe more (?) , and will get a week off until the guys reassemble at Cubs July 14
  6. Pivetta did not need yet another batter. I do think Raffy gets mind wandering in dull games. The Sox should not think this one is over quite yet
  7. A bad case of the redass, I'm sure. Do you need a note from the team Dr. to go on the IL. It gets a little suspect this time of year.
  8. Heinous, godawful, diabolically bad
  9. Going on a limb here, but that last one handed swing by Chang was a reaction to pain in his left wrist from the ridiculous swing on the prior pitch. I think he is hurting a bit now, and luckily doesn't have the hamate bone to break, but I bet it is still tender.
  10. If the Sox batters would take every pitch from Medina, the bases would be loaded again. Instead Luis is racking up K's despite giving up some runs
  11. Duvall not so sharp right now with the pitch recognition. He and Wong are chasing the only pitch Medina has .
  12. Thunder only has a chance at a ball up in the Monster if Ort comes in later, maybe Garza too.
  13. They have just done so, no worries tonight
  14. Who knew the Sox were a chop and run like hell team. The Wall has no new dents
  15. Wong's catching load will wear him out early.
  16. Mr 3-2, Walk is on again. Casas' OBP should be about.500 40 walks for a .329 OBP ? Leads team in K's at 75; 53 hits
  17. Are lineups locked in before being presented to umpires ? Looks like Kotsay said, if you have a LH lineup, I have LH opener hiding right over here. Maybe Medina follows.
  18. Chumpire bad call on Duran's 3-0 pitch gets Jarred a little antsy, leads to a bad K
  19. Bernandino running on fumes after 1 inning, 2 K's and 11 pitches . Can he possibly come out and gut out the 2nd ? Keep him in, AC
  20. Another question is why Duvall in CF and Duran in LF ? I would think Duran's speed is best used in CF. I worry about Duran finding the garage door in the sidewall a la Swihart a few years ago
  21. Yu Chang is back @SS, so there that. Kike to 2B despite some argument that Arroyo is actually a better offensive threat based on the numbers. Yoshi getting a night off.
  22. Medina should be very hittable . looking for Bernadino to get 2 full innings of shutout pitching.
  23. Another thought, Cora cannot play/execute the game for his guys . All he can do is motivate them and put them in roles where they believe they will succeed. I don't think many of us have experience trying to get egotistical millionaires who have been praised their entire young lives, who work in the public eye , some less educated and speaking limited English to play the right way, making split second decisions that win games. Managing this group to be net winners , which they currently are, is a very difficult balancing act. When you add the injury list to the mix, the current results are far better than average.
