  1. And overuse due to injuries among the "starters" exacerbates and exposes sharply the inabilities of the truly marginal talents we have seen at the back end of the pen.
  2. And the parade through the BP continues with Barraclough and Walters back up, Lamet DFA'ed, and Robertson sent down to WooSox . If this is an organization with a game plan to do anything except rearrange the deck chairs, please start showing some concept of how they will improve this team's abilities. Open tryouts time was last Spring.
  3. I apologize but cannot watch this crap any more tonight. Good luck to you guys.
  4. He's watching late noight ESPN reruns of the Little League World Series
  5. Great post, reflecting reality . We do have a great set-up man and closer, but as you note, generally need the lead.
  6. Robertson is the next SoS to be located on the mound at Fenway.
  7. I think it is AC's way of saying F U to Chaim
  8. Well Story did make contact and hit the ball. But, in fact, he was chasing a low away pitch rolling it over to SS. Did not expect anything from him and he doesn't disappoint. Will probably need tomorrow off to reassess
  9. Honest question---- Does Bloom and his personnel actually watch these games in real time and assess these jabronies they bring in. I see him in a few of the NESN shots but he's usually walking out of the suite heading to the restroom. Probably to vomit.
  10. Very hard to do, but any accomplishment is welcome and rewarded
  11. Lamet is most likely the next in a long line of dumpster dives relievers who are getting paid tryouts in Boston. This is truly no way to run an MLB team.
  12. Through 4 innings , the sluggers have 1 hit against 5 ERA dude . Sox now on their 3rd pitcher of the evening.
  13. Crawford basically takes a large dump on his team tonight with a useless start covering 3.1 innings. Continuing his ineffectiveness at Fenway makes him a prime candidate to pitch elsewhere next year.
  14. Casas saves a mess with his leap, but when is the last time you have seen a spinaround pickoff play succeed at 2B ?
  15. Every hit ball up in the air. What does that tell you, Kutter ?
  16. Center cut , up in zone. Kutter needs to gain command
  17. Throwing pitches up in the zone is not a strategy , actually a tactic, that will bode well for Crawford. It has cost him the first run, and once again the Sox start off behind.
  18. Kutter throwing a lot of pitches for 1 out. Nearing 20, needs a DP now
  19. In the land of the blind (RSN), the one eyed man is the DH. The fat man plays 3B
  20. I will go on record early saying that if Story or Sale go back on the IL with an injury before Oct 1, then that individual will not make the RS HoF.
  21. I do not think anyone is looking for or expecting Cedanne to come over and be the solution to a problem . If he gets a Sept call-up then good for him, but not even counting on that. Might have been different if Verdugo had been traded, but that didn't happen. Hope I don't have to eat my words but moving Chang, with Story back, was not a hard choice. Sale's return won't either with the back end of the pen guys. Llovera has shown nothing so far.
  22. I think Turner's heel was definitely bothering him as you follow his runouts to 1B after a grounder. Of all the studs on this team, Justin definitely deserves a couple days off to let it heal.
  23. For the last 18 months, the FO has not made a lot of sense , just a small amount occasionally
  24. What's the likelihood that Story will catch heaps of abuse if he doesn't hit right away ? I would think we may see a replay of Duvall coming off his wrist injury . What looks like a strong lineup , based on career stats , is not performing as well as it should. The overall group is in a 10 game swoon with the bats, still shaky on defense , with a roulette wheel in the BP . The 6 runs last night won the game but was a total fluke outcome. More like a 3-2 game. But a win is a win, so maybe it lights them up for a run against lesser opponents.
  25. Verdugo has already impaired his trade value and Bloom would get next to nothing for an unreliable, streaky attitude player. He will not get an extended contract. How do you get anything for him, except in a bigger package ? He won't be younger or more skilled than his Large Sample Size shows. He needs to play his way back into a plus OF'er/hitter , if he can. Refsnyder is a decent #4 Of'er , bench Ph'er vs LHP , day off sub. He is under contract for 2024. Duvall is not hitting well , maybe lost strength in his wrist this year. He will not be re-upped for 2024. I prefer Turner at DH for the rest of this year, which puts Yoshi in LF. IMO, you have to let Duran continue to work on his game against both LHP and RHP if you are going to realize his potential ( or lack thereof ) So the answer to the question is that for the next 50 games should be Dugo, Yoshi, Duran as the primary starters . Also note that Cedanne Rafaela may get a look in September, and be a factor in 2024 ST.
