  1. I am still peeved that Eaton did not score. This is an excert from the article from today's NBC Sports Boston website: "Eaton was at third base and looking at Chisholm when the second baseman made the throw. Meanwhile, third baseman Ryan McMahon was almost standing in the shortstop position, paying no attention to Eaton. With speed and base running being major factors of Eaton's game, he should have known that he had plenty of room to get frisky by bouncing off third base toward home plate, knowing that there was nobody at the bag to tag him out if a throw came that way." I blame it partly on Eaton for not having baseball instincts but its really all on Kyle Hudson who couldn't seize the moment and make a great decision. I have seen enough of him to know that the Sox need a new third base coach. Grady Little didn't survive a boneheaded decision in playoff loss to Yankees and neither should Hudson.
  2. I say it was a stupid move because he would have scored no matter what. Hudson was chicken or dumb not to send him.
  3. He pitched like a #2 for a month or so but I agree, he is more of a #3 or #4.
  4. Bello was not good last night but he is far from a bust. 11-9. 3.35 ERA. For 9 million a year. That's cheap for a starting pitcher. He is still very young.
  5. Watch the video from the third base camera. Eaton was past third as Chisholm was starting his throw. He would have scored even if the throw wasn't dropped. With two outs, you have to be agressive there. Make the defense make a play. Hudson is not a good third base coach. Blew the game earlier this season against the O's by not sending Eaton in 11th. Apparently he doesn't like sending their fastest runner.
  6. No F****** way. If Eaton keeps running all the way he scores standing up. He was rounding third as Chisholm was starting to throw before Hudson stupidly put out the stop sign by pointing to third base. Huge blunder.
  7. He's pretty much useless at this point. If only he could bunt.
  8. Red Sox lost this series last night thanks to Duran and Kyle Hudson.
  9. Early showing no nerves. I like him for a spot in next year's rotation.
  10. I predict Lowe will hit a little league homer tonight to right field.
  11. If Duran had got the ball in quicker they would have had that bum Stanton who was loafing out of the box.
  12. For once Fred, I agree with you. He should have been going all the way. Willie Mays Hays had the same situation in Major League and he scored without the throw getting away from the first baseman. Same situation.
  13. The first base coach was trying to waive Eaton home. From the replay I saw, Hudson was pointing to the third base bag which tells Eaton to stop and go back to the bag. This was on the coach but I also think Eaton should have had the instincts to be watching the throw to first and then go. He should have scored one way or the other. Definitely cost the Sox big time.
  14. This loss comes down to 3 plays: 1. Duran's error 2. Rafaela's failure to bunt 3. Eaton's baserunning blunder. He needs to keep his eye on the ball as he is rounding 3rd. He should have been going on that all the way even if the throw was good. He was rounding third when Chisholm was throwing the ball. In addition, our third base coach SUCKS!
  15. What a wasted opportunity. Rafaela sucks at bunting. Eaton didn't run hard into third. Story hits it to the deepest part of the park.
