Getting Dennis Eckersley in 1978 was a great trade and trading Nomar for Cabrera, et al. brought the Red Sox a WS title and broke the curse.

Sox with a solid, low cost signing of Jose Peraza. He can play multiple positions, including 2B, and he hits lefties. I like it.

Cole is like Price. He went somewhere he didn't want to go because they gave him stupid money. Is always about the money. If the Angels had offered 324M he would be pitching there.

Yankees give Cole 9 years and 324M. They must be stupid! He is an opposite field fly ball pitcher so I am sure he will enjoy Yankee stadium.

After what Strasburg got the Yankees will have to pay through the nose to get Cole. Good.

I will most remember Rick for his one hitter against the Yankees in 2018 and pitching out of the bullpen in the 2018 playoffs. I also remember how he always answered questions from the media with no excuses. He "GOT IT" when it came to pitching in Boston.

After last year's numbers, I don't see him getting a multi year deal. A one year make good deal of 7M seems fair for his age and numbers. If he loves pitching in Boston, close to where he grew up he might take it. He has made plenty of money already.

I think you may be right. He is from SoCal and he would much rather pitch for the Angels in L.A. than pitch and live in New York. No comparison in lifestyle. Angel fans are also much better and more knowledgeable than Yankee fans.

Yeah, its been 10 years since they won anything. What a drought. They need to do something to keep their pathetic fans happy. They still won't win, with Cole. Houston had a better team the last two years, had Cole, and didn't win.

Just read where the Sox are interested in Porcello. I like him but he would have to take a huge pay cut to come back. He loves pitching in Boston and answers the bell each time. More than I can say for Price.
