    My fear is that MLB comes down hard on the Red Sox because of all the flak they are taking on the Astros' punishment. The Sox will be the scapegoats. I hope that doesn't happen.

    I like his approach. Give this guy some room under the luxury tax and he can be creative. If he can get a top pitching prospect and Myers by paying half of Myers salary I am all for it. Myers is young enough where he could become a better player than he has been. Let him tatoo the Green Monster for a year.

    How in the world did the Red Sox take Verdugo knowing he has back issues and won't be ready to start the season? He is 23 and has back issues. Geeezz!

    2-1 or 2-0 win games. As far as who got screwed worse, the Red Sox beat the Yankees during the season. They would have beat them in the playoffs too. Who is to say the Sox wouldn't have scored more runs in the first two game if they had been closer? Momentum is a funny thing. No one will ever know for sure.

    The Red Sox definitely got cheated out of the 2017 World Series title. They lost to the Astros in four games, losing game 4 in the 9th inning. One inning from making it a 2-2 series. Got hammered in Houston. Surprise!

    Roenicke would not have been hired if he was involved in any sign stealing. The Sox are only going to get a slap on the wrist if anything. There are no former players ratting them out (Fiers) for anything. No proof. NO crime. Move on. Nothing to see here.

    I also have a brand new, never worn 2004 Red Sox WS championship T-shirt autographed on the field during the celebration at Busch Stadium by Big Papi, Varitek, Bronson Arroyo and Ellis Burks. Treasure!

    Connor Wong and Jeter Downs are impressive prospects. They may help down the road or be put into another trade later to get players who can help this year or next. My guess is that Bloom will play the long game.

    I don't think Bloom is a guy who is going to trade prospects like DD. He will try to build up the farm system and make smart FA signings like TB did with Charlie Morton.

    They can still contend in 2020. The roster isn't set yet and they have money now to add talent at the trade deadline.

    Ever heard of Miguel Cabrera? Traded at age 24 in a salary dump. Hall of Famer. How about Texas trading A-Rod at age 28 in a salary dump? Its been done before many times by a lot of teams. Its not just the Red Sox.

    Sox will be fine. Most, but not all, the Captain Negatives and General Doomsday here should just tune in to Felger and Mazz to commiserate together.

    Bloom now has some financial flexibility to make some moves to shore up the team. They still have Devers, Bogie, JDM, Benny, Verdugo, JBJ, Vazquez, Sale, E-Rod etc. They will contend in 2020 and beyond. It is not all doom and gloom like many are predicting. I'm excited to see how they do this year and beyond. After all the championships in the last 16 years (eat your heart out Jacko) we are playing with house money. Bloom helped make TB relevant with a small payroll. He will be better than Theo and DD before its all over.

    Everyone is looking at this all wrong. The Red Sox traded Betts to the Dodgers to make sure the Yankees don't win the WS this year and the coming years. You have to love it!
