  1. It’s more like $87 million under the cap. So if the budget is truly $220 the it’s closer to $67 million they have to spend this offseason. Would love to see them use it on pitching
  2. Wouldn't one of these guys be part of the trade?
  3. Not that that is not an issue but could one of them move to LF and bite the bullet on Yoshida by either paying him to play elsewhere or just an expensive bench bat. You could also rotate all those guys in with the DH too.
  4. Imagine if the Sox were buyers in 2022 and we missed the wildcard by one game by being that much better and we had a lot less of Duran/Abreu/Wong/Casas/Bello/Houck/Mayer/Bleis/Anthony/Perales???? Just freaking sell. This team stinks.
  5. Isn't Greenville supposed to be the killer of all homeruns???
  6. Who says' Mookie cursed us? Stop it! don't talk that into existence.
  7. It could be enough if someone like O'Neil got hot again, but again, that is contingent on getting healthy, and everyone STAYING healthy, with no real regression elsewhere. Odds are small.
  8. What good is that value if the team doesn't even make the playoffs? he's a free agent at the end of the year.
  9. Tim Anderson has been having an off 3 years. This team doesn't have a realistic shot at a world series, and a small chance at a wild card. Unless things drastically change with Casas, Yoshida+ coming back they should sell short term assets.
  10. They're not getting a top 25 prospect, but people over pay for pitching at the deadline, if those guys are pitching well the Sox will get back good value for them.
  11. coincidentally Scott Cooper was my first favorite player........I was 10 and he played 3B.
  12. I'm sure you can find worse players than Scott Cooper, he wasn't great but he was a pretty good player the two seasons he went and he actually contributed in the 1994, didn't he bat in either the tying or go ahead run at one point in that game??? Yeah he ain't no hall of famer that's for sure, but he had a .786 OPS that year and had really good defense. We could use a player like that on this team.
  13. I really want to get excited about Yorkes play but it's such a small sample size after doing nothing to improve his stock for two years. It's nice to see the big three are all looking great in AA, and all three look like they could be ready to start contributing to the team at some point in 2025. I want to see more of this Ovis Portes kid, it's always fun to see someone pop. 19 tall righty already up to 98 MPH and misses bats.
  14. Simas is an organizational player, they're not risking anything by promoting him to fill a hole, MiILB teams need to field rosters too. Saying we can promote a legit prospect because someone like Simas was moved up to fill a hole is not a fair comparison.
  15. I would be totally cool with the next Hunter Pence. Please speak this into existence MVP
  16. I'm not sure we know that yet, this will be his first trade dealine, and this upcoming offseason he may have more freedom to make moves. I think we will have a better ideal of what kind of trade maker he is, too early to tell but some of the early signs are good for him.
  17. I pretty much came on to say something similiar. If they sold off expiring assets and bought guys under team control who can play into 2025 as well then depending on the names coming and going I might not hate that.
  18. No one can predict a human beings future with precision, it shouldn't be surprised that even the best predictors of player performance are off the mark sometimes.
  19. His Exit velocities are very impressive. He really impacts the baseball, I wonder if he can play RF. He wasn't horrible in the infield so I'm not sure why they don't see if he can play mutliple positions unless they really just view him as an everyday regular out in the outfield. They must really believe in the bat.
  20. Holy crap, I was half joking when I saw Lugo was maybe the 10th guy, but he almost jumped all the way up there. He has legit big league exit velocities; they obviously really believe in the bat. There's obviously something they really like about Castro, would love to hear more about it
  21. And I will say, I applaud the people who don't have to be diehards to appreciate a win.
  22. Realistically, this team is probably overachieving given the amount of injuries they have. They just song realistically have a shot at winning a World Series this year. But damn, these people are so cynical they can’t even enjoy one win, they can’t even let other people enjoy a win.
  23. Benitez will fall. Meidroth will not move up. Not a prophet, soxprospects already denotes who will move up/down before the rankings come out. There’s up or down errors currently next to the movers on their list.
  24. Hickey is dropping. Castro no, Bastardo moves up
  25. Hatfield just posted in the soxprospects chat that there are mutliple players moving up/down at least 30 positions. I think it's obivous Lugo is the one moving up 30, so that puts him at least in the top 20.
