    Too much alphabet soup . A good ballplayer is like a beautiful woman. You know one when you see one . You don't need a numerical rating to tell you .

    I don't know about that . That guy will be in Cooperstown tomorrow. But , here on July 20 , our saves leader , with a grand total of seven saves , is now pitching for Pawtucket. That is an embarrassment. Eovaldi will be a major improvement.

    We all should know by now that anything can happen in a five game playoff .

    My prediction: Eovaldi will find his true calling as a closer . He will succeed , find his niche and never return to starting .

    He just seems to me like the prototypical closer . Obviously , he still has to prove it . Hope he doesn't disappoint .

    Last night was as discouraging a loss as we have seen all year . They came out and laid an egg in what looked to be a sure win . Just have to forget about it and win the next two . Then comes the make or break ten days .

    The more I think about this move , the more I like it . It will be better for the bullpen, better for the team , better for the manager and better for Eovaldi . If you called central casting for a closer ; they would send over Eovaldi . This will work out great .

    Eovaldi as closer is the absolute best thing the Sox can do to give them a real shot at winning it . I am 100 % good with this .

    Frank ( Sweet Music ) Viola , former MLB pitcher , now a pitching coach in the Atlantic League was ejected from a game the other day for arguing the ball and strike calls of the robot ump . It's crazy out there , folks .

    Is Toronto a great organization or what ? Not only does the team stink, but this jabroni pitching today had to drive all night from Buffalo to Boston to make the start . I wonder if he is staying in the hotel or sleeping in his car .

    The Orioles are taking the term " weaker team " to a whole new level . The difference in talent levels between the Sox and them is vast .Not sweeping them would be very disappointing.

    I don't think the plan was to win last year and not make the playoffs this year . I hope the plan was to win again this year .

    I absolutely do not think the Sox should give up the ship and become sellers . This team has too much talent and we have too much invested in it to do that . It is disappointing to be shooting for a wild card instead of the division, but it is what it is . Go for it . As stated elsewhere , using Eovaldi as closer could be the catalyst needed to spark this club .

    I strongly felt that D.D. was wrong to pretty much ignore the bullpen and spend the money elsewhere . I have seen nothing since that changes my mind on that . However , spilled milk is spilled milk . The season is not over . I think making Eovaldi the closer , while it may seem like desperation to some , is the single best thing we can do to turn this around. If it works , it will not only provide a closer , but it should help the rest of the bullpen as well . The ripple effect may even help the starters . Eovaldi as closer gives us our best shot at winning. Let's get started with it .

    When the ballplayers and the announcers are both being paid from the same checkbook, it can create some problems. Personally, I would like to see more critical comments from the announcers . But I don't expect it . As for the Eck/Price feud, no big deal . People get too worked up over everything. Have fun with it .

    I don't see the Twins as a threat to anyone . Leading the weakest division in MLB. And , it would not surprise me if Cleveland passed them . In your heart , you are still worried about the Sox .

    I guess the idea would be to bring him up when rosters expand . Use him to pinch run .

    Us older folks are more likely to stay home and watch TV . The younger demo will grow older and become the new older demo . That is life . Plenty of young fans are at the ballparks . Just give them a reason to be .

    Brock Holt might actually help the Tigers win a game . And that would be counter productive to their goals . Not going to happen .

    To have a payroll that size and go so cheap on the bullpen is poor management . Dombrowski has had much success with this team , but he doesn't get a pass on this . Sorry . But the truth is the truth . Not giving up yet either . Hoping that Eovaldi is the answer .

    Harm , That is kind of deep . I don't take this stuff all that seriously . I just want to have some peanuts , crackerjacks and enjoy the games . And it is more fun when the team is good .
