Didn't know that JD Martinez only hit 8 HRS last year pulling the ball. Most his HRS were to Right and Right Center Field. Fit for Fenway?

Stanton is going to put a lot of people in the seats. Everywhere. Make your money back easy. In a year Harper will get 40 million, and whoever signs him, will make their money back too. Even if you go over Luxury Tax, these Owners are OK.

Funniest Post of the day for me I read. Somebody wrote Stanton will hit more HRS this year in Fenway then Bogaerts. Then I looked it up, Bogaerts only had 4 this year in Fenway.

How many HRS Yanks hit last year? Now add at 40 to that at least. Probably hit 10 in Fenway alone....bunting. I understand Judge should not hit 50 again, but they really added some power. Stanton, Judge, Sanchez. Wow!

I am more interested in Return for Marlins, somebody is paying his contract. That's a given. At least next 3 years. DD could throw the kitchen sink at the Marlins, if he doesn't want to come here, it doesn't matter. Marlins would want the Sox to get in on this better for them, especially now with the Yanks in on this. Still feel, DD was told he did not want to come here.

I don't think this has anything to do about the money anymore, somebody's going to pay. Now it's all about the return. Cards, S.F. and now the Yanks. More teams in it, better leverage for the Marlins to up the ante on Prospects . Jeter is not stupid. Sox don't have the leverage anymore. You would have to give too much for Stanton. I'd stay away too. Only chance Sox had was to do it quickly before other teams got involved, in a moment of desperation to get rid of Contract, by the Marlins. I also feel, that DD was told behind closed doors that Stanton did not want come to Boston, so not to bother to waste the time.

I go to a lot of Minor League Games, all you have is your eyes there.

I don't discredit it, I just don't use it like others. Baseball is a game of situations, and many times it relies on smart ballplayers to win a game, who might not be All-Stars, but they do an important job, winning a game. If you use it knock yourself out, but I don't.

Mookie in CF or Benni, and add Stanton in LF. I never said nothing about Hanley. Stanton is an Outfielder. You think he's that much of a Defensive liability?

Agree, about different seasons, I don't go by WAR. Never have. I cant see 42+ HRS, a difference in only 5-6 wins. You have to go by games played, at the moment of playing. WAR sounds too generalization, and lazy to me. Reason I'm not a WAR person is that Outs in Baseball produces runs. And that what Baseball is really all about, Runs. WAR doesn't give me the situation. Quick situation for me, that would never show up in WAR... Runner at third and 1st 1 out, tie game....Batter hits it to SS, but busts his ass to 1st and beats it out, Run Scores, win that game by 1 run. Does that show? Its a Fielders Choice, Outs were made. Yet you won.

Lets put a hypothetical, say no JBJ, and we had Stanton in Left Field, and Benni in CF, or Mookie this year. Would you think 42 more HRS would have helped the team? 5 or 10 overrated, 42 I don't think so. Unless they are 42 Solo Shots, haha. Bradley had 17, Stanton 59. Not enough Defense for runs saved, vs. the Offense Stanton brings.

Don't go after Stanton, Hosmer, Moustakas, Azuna, Nunez, Abreu, Freeman, Votto, more I'm sure, some I agree with. But then he says Sox shouldn't sit out this Off-Season. ha Edit: He did say he likes Martinez over Stanton.

While we might differ on Players, we cant stay status quo, we need improvement.
