  1. Love it! Love infielders as Managers. They understand Pitchers almost as good as Catchers, because they use their eyes first. Feel for the game. No previous experience I like, no bad habits, or trends. Now the important thing, is he'll make mistakes, but he has to file it, and don't do it again. He was smart player, he'll be a smart Manager. Smart wins a lot of games.
  2. With the Marlins hiring of Gary Denbo, puts the Yankees as my #1 for the team that might go after Stanton, then Dodgers, Sox last, as far as Prospects. Denbo knows all the Yankee Prospects, since he was in charged of their Farm. I think they don't go after him and full speed ahead for Otani, Tanaka already talking to him. You have to think though, if Yankees go after Stanton it will be cheaper than Harper in a year.
  3. I keep looking at that 7th game, and Sabathia vs. Morton. Severino doesn't get excited and get flustered, could end, but I'm giving it to the Vet. Besides I want to watch it. Tanaka has been nothing but a unsung hero in both series, that 1-0 win against Cleveland to me was the biggest win in all Play-off games. That game brought the Guardians down to earth. And again tonight, Astros just needed 1, at least, and they didn't get it. Tanaka probably just had the biggest win of the series, (of course all are big) Astros on their heels now. Have to think about it now, Yanks can play loose.
  4. Noticing Judge this year, when he hits HRS he hits them in bunches. Too bad I have to work tonight, this is a huge game. Tanaka I think tonight, 3 great starts in a row, against a Yankee killer. All runs will be important, Defense is huge in games like this.
  5. He's one of the best hitters in Japan too. Lot of Power.
  6. Dodgers BP 24 up, 24 down, 0 hits, 0 walks, in 2 games. 3 more outs they would have Pitched a Perfect game. That's dominating. Cubs better get to Darvish, and not give the Dodgers a lead say going into 7th inning. Cubs have to win tonight. Don't see them coming back 3-0.
  7. Anybody here see Devers play 1st base. Saw him this year 4 times, went to park early, Double AA never saw him practice there. Everytime he was at 3rd base. Wonder why Posters here, who probably never saw him play think he's a 1st baseman? Makes absolutely makes no sense, that if he couldn't handle 3rd in the Minors they would keep him there. Learning new positions in the Majors is stupid, unless your team has no chance of making the Play-offs. Then OK. Your team is going for WS and your telling a kid at 20 to learn a new Position in the Majors, is ridiculous. Nice to dream though. Leave him at third and be happy you got a slugger there at last.
  8. Sure is, he was a Catcher switched to Pitching. Smart move by the Dodgers.
  9. Dodgers BP 12 batters 12 outs. 0 hits, 0 BB's, that's shutting down your opponent.
  10. Abreu much better hitter than Moustakas. What I read great clubhouse guy too. You know Cherrington came very close to signing him. Ownership stopped it. Moustakas never drove over 90 rbi's, or hit near .300 Had 1 good season that's it. Getting close to overrated, to me. #2 overall pick in the Draft too, that year. .251 career average. Abreu .301 career avg. probably has more HRS too in less time. 4 yrs Abreu 124 Hrs 7 yrs Moustakas 119 Hrs. Funny thing Abreu had 6 triples this year, Moustakas 0. Probably faster than him too. Must be he only has 4 career Triples.
  11. Jose Abreu too. He opted out of his contract, and will get a good bump in pay in arbitration. White Sox should want to get out, might cost Sox very little in return, since WS are in rebuilding mode.
  12. Hosmer will cost too much, KC wants him back, need money in other areas. I wanted Hosmer too, but not feasible. A simple Trade like Abreu, is better move. KC will give QO to Hosmer, so it starts at 17.4 m. Moreland used Fenway to get better deal, so next contract for him will be his nest-egg. More years more money. I think he goes to Cleveland, and they let Santana walk, after they give him QO.
  13. Since Martinez played a total of 2 games at 1st, in his Major and Minor career, we'll sign him for big bucks, (Diamondbacks will have a say), and move him to an entirely new position, so we can mess him all up. Getting Abreu would be a great move, in my opinion. Martinez and Abreu changes dynamic of this line-up, Abreu very affordable too. Martinez 45 Hrs 104 rbi's .303 avg. Abreu 33 Hrs 102 rbi's .304 avg. Power and good hitters. You sign Martinez you put him in Outfield, otherwise it's counter-productive. You want to ease him in in certain game situations, that's a different story.
  14. Tells me more about the Yankees than Judge. They just beat the hottest team in baseball, without any contribution of their slugger.
  15. I'm sure glad we Drafted Trey Ball instead of Judge.
  16. Glad I'm not Matt Wieters. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/2017/10/13/nationals-cubs-game-five-fifth-inning-max-scherzer-matt-wieters/760800001/?src=rss
  17. So you think Bradley has a lot of Trade value then. Right? Use him as Center Piece?
  18. Houston just released him too, got nothing for him. Imagine him in that line-up now.
  19. Diamondbacks are going to go hard after Martinez, they want him back. He's going to be more pricey than we might think.
  20. Good question on Martinez, I always look at the Arbitration numbers. He almost doubled it last year. Year before that doubled. I think after monster 2nd half, you start at 20 a year.
  21. I wanted to be fair to JBJ I like him, but he shows a bad trend, especially in the 2nd half of seasons, when it's crunch time. I checked his splits in years over 100 games. 2014, 16, and 17. 2014 started 111 games 2nd half .126 avg. 2016 started 155 games 2nd half .233 avg. 2017 started 131 games 2nd half .204 avg. I don't understand I think he gets tired or they figure him out. Too me he's getting dangerously close to being a platoon player, or just a Defensive replacement.
  22. You guys think JBJ is worth more to this team than Benni? I just don't see this. Way, way too much value on his Defense. Benni was always a Centerfielder. 1st full season in the Majors too. Benni too valuable, ceiling too high. I don't see JBJ hitting .300 and 25+ Hrs and 100 or close 100 RBI's. Benni is capable of doing this. Don't see it from JBJ. The Defense you save wont equal run production. AND I like JBJ too. Give Benni a year in Center and see if this is mistake, if it is move Betts back to Center. Benni to right. Other wise 93 wins if were Lucky and Yanks will have 95+ wins.
  23. My prediction next year Devers will be an All-Star. These HRS Devers hits are not chip shots hitting the Pesky pole, They are blasts, and he is only 20 years old. Last kid I want to get rid of. Patience with his Defense, he'll get better. He is made for Fenway too, not just hitting the wall, he smashes them over it, most of the time to Left-Center, that's a shot for a LHB.
  24. Cant give Benni and Devers for Stanton. Bad philosophy. Ceiling too high on these 2. Look at the kids that show that they are in- consistent. More proven that in long run they hit their peak. Especially in the Power and run producers. Your trying to get Power and losing at same time. For 2 Players. Now you have to look elsewhere to fill the void. Devers and Benni can easily hit 50 HRS together, Stanton hits 50 its a wash, and a lot of money, now your short a 3rd baseman. Start FA, only cost money then work the phones.
  25. I still say Yanks are going to be players on Stanton. It's in their blood, when a huge name is available, Yanks are in on it. Stanton, Judge, and Sanchez, that would be scary. Then the Sox have to go for Harper, forget Machado, go real big.
