He cant catch up to Fastballs because of his long swing. Wish the Sox bring in Al Oliver to work with his swing. Perfect swing for LHB, who is not huge. Center and Left, he'll hit .280 at least. Pull and sit. Here's a nice long swing by #8

This^^^ Wasn't the purpose of that at bat, was to get on base, and get the tying run to the plate? (Obviously a hit would be nice), Would of left Holt in, not because I like him, only because he had at bats, was ready at least for seeing Pitches throughout the game.

At work these days, got promoted to a 2nd shift position, had to take it. Saw on the computer, got a couple hits to Center. and a hit to Left. now were talking.

He'll break out of his slump as soon as he hits the ball the other way. Until then he better save a lot of runs. He's a pull and sit player. Pull the ball, and sit back down. Never understood his approach, especially for Fenway.

Take out his Hot June last year he hit .217 for the year. But I take out his High and Low last year, he hit .228. I mean he better save 50+ runs for the year, for all the Runners left on base. I guess it could be done. At this point he is 0-5 with RISP. If he could just hit with RISP, I'll live with low average.

Farrell was a robot. 100 pitches or 7 innings, whatever came first. No feel for the game. Some Pitchers get stronger as game goes on. Might be only for that day, but you should be seeing this. Not assuming, he is done because of Pitch Counts, or Innings. -
Ball repeating in Portland, and as a Reliever, probably his last chance. To me, when you repeat in the Minors, is like staying back in school. He was a good hitter in High School, don't know why they never give him a chance for some at bats. Pitching might not be strong suit, try something else. You never know. Turns 24 in June, wow.

My binkie this season is Denyi Reyes, in Greenville. First real full season in the Minors. GCL and Short season is useless to me. Tell you what impresses me about those stats, 176 innings and only 14 BB's.

I only heard the Giants asking about JBJ. Never heard he was a big ask this Off-Season. They Traded for Mccutchen instead. He's playing RF for them. Not buying anything with Boras.

Not me, especially if RISP and 2 outs RISP. Too many Runners LOB, that could lead to runs. He has to improve. At least in this area. During a whole season, you'll never save that many runs on Defense. 1 for every 10 at bats, and his Defense is so important, then he is heading for the dreaded Defensive Replacement category.

I've been hard on JBJ, because I like him. His hitting approach pisses me off. But, even I don't start evaluating Players until 30 games into the season. He could be a.280-.300 hitter, if he could just learn to hit the other way. Not try to pull the damn ball.

This year don't bother me, it's next year. I see no way we can get into any FA talk with 3 very good ones on the market.

Kershaw has an Opt out too. If he hates Boston and Opts out he wont get 30 again. Too old for that much. Doubt teams do another Greinke. Learning their lessons. Maybe Kershaw wont even opt out, after seeing the Market last year.

1st game of 162 game season, on the road. Bruins were going for 1st place. I would think a little more important. At least it was to me.

Bruins and Celtics big now especially the Bruins. Capturing a lot of Fans with this young team.

Not a good 1st start for Duffy. When you allow more HRS then Shields, that's a bad start.

Sorry I'll take Kirby Puckett over JBJ in CF. Amazing at 28 same age JBJ will be in April. Not only GG, but 234 hits, 24 HRS, 121 RBI's, and .356 avg. Retire in 95
