  1. Net Saves makes non-closing relievers a liability, because they'll never get you saves but they will get you blown saves.
  2. That sucks. I work from home tomorrow and was looking forward to watching while doing minimum work. Instead I'll be in the office Friday having to look at Gamecast.
  3. It's just like the old NL Central/AL West. I don't think it'll affect who makes the playoffs based on the settings (division leaders makes playoffs, and then top records), unless all 6 teams in that one division have a better record than all 4 teams in the other division. Also I don't know if it could still be changed, but since there's only 10 teams this season maybe there should only be 4 playoff spots rather than 6.
  4. Just confirming - 7PM on Monday is the draft time and not just a placeholder?
  5. As of right now he'd be the #2 starter for the Sox.
  6. I can confirm that Renegade BX Bombers will be joining and that Ball Two Bat One will not be joining.
  7. Voit traded for Padres RHP Justin Lange. Rated Padres' 8th best prospect by MLB Pipeline, 13th by Keith Law. Write up on Lange is that he has the best stuff in the system but lack of command, and that he is more likely to end up as a back-end bullpen piece rather than a starter. Padres also agreed to eat all of Voit's salary in the deal.
  8. Dalbec is young, that's what he has going for him. His 0.2 WAR from almost a full season doesn't inspire much confidence from me, though he could get better. He could also not get better. I've seen him look great occasionally and overmatched more than occasionally. Despite the A's selling off they still always manage to compete (similar to the Rays) so a low cost, middle of the lineup player like Voit could interest them. Or if it's a true rebuild Dalbec would interest them more. It depends what they're trying to accomplish this season.
  9. I'm not down on Voit, I think he's a top hitter when healthy. But with Rizzo now and DJL as the backup, not sure where he gets regular playing time.
  10. Peraza + Voit (and eating Voit's salary) for Montas comes pretty close per BTV. And sounds like something that would interest both clubs.
  11. Screw all those vendors, wanting to get paid on time n s***. Net30 means 30 days from when I feel like paying.
  12. Full season of Rizzo at 1st will also boost the defense
  13. I'm in, so is my friend Alex who was in it last season (Renegade BX Bombers or whatever dumbshit team name he had).
  14. I still think the Yanks will try to sign Rizzo, and if they are strictly abiding by the LT threshold then they'll try to move someone to clear cap space. Some combination of A Chapman/Voit/Chad Green maybe?
  15. He's probably not a viable option at 3B anymore, his UZR/150 last season -19.4. Pretty terrible. I do like the addition of IKF but overall I feel like the trade didn't net a lot for the amount of payroll they took on. And now they might use that as an excuse for not signing anyone.
  16. Can Donaldson even play the field anymore? Sure his bat is a plus but he's a redundant player (old, injury prone, right handed, 1B/DH).
  17. I'm assuming this move is a prelude to either another trade or signing, so I'll reserve my judgment. If not then wtf.
  18. No more Sanchez to rip on. Guess Gallo will have to do.
  19. That is a very good roster assuming good health and bounce back years from DJ/Torres. But I'll assume the opposite since that's just how things go
