  1. Jake Bennett, a 25 year old lefty appears to be the starter tomorrow. A 6-6. 235lb guy Bres loves as a starter, he has pitched 21 innings in AAA, 12 hits, 16 K's and only 3 BB with 0 HR and 2 earned runs given up. I'm over Bello, but I am excited over Tolle (23), Early (23) and now Bennett (25). I have to look for a silver lining and this maybe it for the 2026 season.
  2. Can someone give me a ranked order starters for Sox organization (too lazy to think about). Please do not include Kutter and Sandlin. "I'll believe it when I see them on the mound"
  3. Bello is my least favorite starting pitcher right now. I am extremely pleased that we drafted plethora of pitchers. Time to unleash them. You would think Bello would pitch better with Cora gone.
  4. No, over 162 games, things will equalize. Abreu will come down a bit and every one else should improve (including Story). Kimmi, I'm just exhausted thinking about this every year. I'm sure the management thinks they are doing their best but right now it's ugly.
  5. This is how bad we are with our position players and their OPS (American League) Position Sox vs Yanks (AL Team ranking in OPS) CC 7 vs 10 1B 8 vs 1 2B 12 vs 8 SS 14 vs 10 (just shut up Chris, waste of $23M) 3B 14 vs 11 LF 12 vs 9 CF 7 vs 9 RF 2 vs 1 (Just think, we seriously debated Duran or Abreu) DH 15-5 (hey Bres, how's the DH by committee working out?) Only catching and center field, we have slight advantage. Our best bat is #2, unfortunately #1 play for the Yankees. When you look at this way, you realize how pathetic the team is.
  6. "We’ll figure it out. It might be a little uncomfortable at first but that’s part of the situation we’re in.” .515 OPS...Story should have been 'fired'. I think he meant "situation I put us in". Hell give me Mayer at short and Rafaela at 2B. Play our three damn OF.
  7. I am happy with the staff changes. I don't want a manager who is the face of the ball club. To me, he always made it about himself. He is a very good coach but the bottom line is he stayed his welcome. Just same old crap with him. His coaching had become very predictable. So the two guys that gruntled the most it appears are two guys that need to pick up their game, Story and Whitlock. Story plays for the Red Sox ownership, not Cora. Very interesting that players all blame the management when in fact they should look at themselves and that includes Anthony. Is this going to be an annual thing for him? Waste the 1st month each year? I like having a new coach that coached many of the young players in our system. I did not renew my MLB package and I'm glad I didn't. I'm not going to waste 2 1/2 hours of my life watching crap. I can watch 10 minute summary of each game on You Tube.
  8. I've decided its STUPID to try to get an extra year. Can you name a player that we benefitted from holding back a player?
  9. He can't throw strikes. What, 35+ pitches in inning #1 in his last start. He needs to be traded as soon as he hits a hot streak.
  10. Let's just hope he has an 'uptick' before the deadline and we're out of it. Surely someone will want him. I don't see a scenario where he improves to another level and stay there for further improvement. He will pitch well for a stretch but revert back to his old trick.
  11. You have been around forever. Should we simply trade a player that's had a career season thinking it's as good as it gets? It's probably better than 50/50 odd that the player will never return to repeat the season. Sure there are exceptions. But In retrospect, should we have traded Duran two years ago when his value was the max?
  12. I am just waiting for 2027 to expire along with Yoshida ($18M) and Story's ($23M) contracts. If current situation does not improve, it's time to clean house at the trade deadline. Bring up young pitching prospects. Get rid of Bello. I watched the replay of his last start and I literally became very ill when I saw his pitch count in the 1st inning reach 34 and counting. He more than any other pitcher in our organization requires an Opener.
  13. Not to mention insisting on Kike bat leadoff. Cora can be a joke. He becomes fixated on a player and has trouble moving off of it.
  14. Breslow.......looking at successful playoff teams, they all have power bats (ok, I'm making up that quote). So we'll focus on pitching and defense, instead. Looks like we're 0-2. We complain about JH being cheap, but how about getting value for $1 spent Mr. Ivy Leaguer Breslow? How is that 2 year $18M deal working out for Sandoval? This team will never be World Series contender as long everything we do is 'layered'. No decisiveness from Cora or the management. We think as long as we have multitude of options, we'll be fine. We end up 40 mediocre players with versatility who suck at multiple positions. Hey, but Cora has options. It's a beautiful thing when it works. Cora throws his arm out patting himself on the back.
  15. Isiah Kiner-Falefa has been even worse. He’s also received a whopping eight plate appearances this season, and a -58 wRC+ is all he has to show for it. The team committed $6 million to the veteran journeyman during the offseason and it looks now like that could be wasted money. Breslow to Henry...."Yes, but I was smart enough only to give a guy a one year deal".
  16. I'm just frustrated never knowing what we will get from him game to game. Not sure when the 'consistency' will kick in this year. Today? End of April? May?
  17. He throws just hard enough to get hit HARD. That's always been my opinion of him.
  18. All true, but I haven't trusted him since his rookie year in big situations. All I remember is last year's playoffs and what happened pitching for USA.
  19. I mean Whitlock didn't help himself by giving up a hit and two walks. But this is typical than 3 up 3 down to me when it comes to Whitlock. He'll be the second coming of Matt Barnes in due time.
  20. So sick of talking about injury prone pitchers. One thing we're good at...starting a MASH unit.
  21. Xander has 7 years left at $25M AFTER 2026 season. Ugh.
  22. Impressed that Gray went 6 innings with NO WALKS. Pretty much the stat I look at for pitchers anymore.
  23. I'm with you.....I don't care if he hits .300. His at bats takes away from Anthony, Rafaela, Abreu or Duran. That is the bottom line. What the hell does Bres do if Yoshida is playing well? Trade who? Why didn't he trade that individual last winter? Anthony, Rafaela, Abreu and Duran SUPPOSEDLY are our future. Yoshida has no power, He is very unathletic, too slow to run down balls. I am so sick of our management. Bres has no idea how to build a team. He is not focused. Quit worrying about Yoshida's contract. It's a sunken cost. Evaluate him as a player. He just doesn't measure up. Trade him for couple TBD's. Addition by subtraction is what I see.
