  1. Interesting that we've not heard much about Sandoval. Earlier there was talk about him coming back in September to pitch. Silence. If he's unable to pitch until say, July, then I have serious problem with our evaluation of pitchers. Sometime it's better to spend little more money and get a sure thing. Someone who can pitch actual INNINGS. Sure the faithfuls will dismiss it saying well, it's ONLY $18.5M. Somehow Chapman's 2 year $24M looks like a bargain compared to Sandovals if things don't work out. This organization has pissed away more money on 'marginal' players than our government.
  2. Good observation....
  3. If Bres doesn't understand the 'it' factor that Crochet added to the Sox organization then he's learned NOTHING. You have Anthony on the positional side, you need to build around Crochet and NOT with slew of #5 pitchers, and I consider Bello and Giolito (stupid signing in my opinion, how many rehab years are we paying for this guy?) to be the latter. Walker and Giolito salaries will pay for the Crochet's new contract. We have the sunken cost of Sandoval to take over the 'Walker' experiment. I would rather go with the outfield trio of Anthony, Rafaela and Password if that means we can acquire Skubal. Trade for Skubal, extend him and pick up a legit power bat (and I'm not talking about Bregman).
  4. You go get an elite arm if you have a chance to acquire him. The goal is to win the World Series. You don't do that by collecting marginal starting pitching.
  5. In 2025, he ranked fifth in the NPB in home runs with 22 and first in OPS at 1.043 despite only playing in 56 games. Murakami missed a large portion of the season due to an oblique injury that kept him sidelined. That pace projected to 74 home runs over a full season, which would shatter his original record. Why do we keep doing this to ourselves? Another player coming off an oblique injury. Haven't we had enough of this? I just want to scream into Bresblows.
  6. Not convinced he's a $40M guy.
  7. “Sometimes those work out, sometimes they don’t,” Breslow added. “But I think we had a good process, we had good information. And our hope is we’re going to find ourselves eight months from now or whatever it is in late July with a really good team that we believe in that we’re looking to bolster all over again.” Excuses, excuses, excuses. Just get the damn job done.
  8. “I learned a lot about the value of building relationships and having clear communication and spending time with the coaching staff and spending time with the players and certainly with (manager) Alex (Cora),” Breslow added. “And having honest conversations, uncomfortable as they may be at times. So I think the short answer there is, I’ve learned a ton.” So we had a trainee running our ball club? I can't imagine DD every saying what Breslow admitted here.
  9. I wouldn't be comfortable giving him a 3 year deal with how he started out with us and ended with us.
  10. I'm not sure why we need to extend a broken down veteran in Giolito. He is literally one throw away from season ending injury. I thought Sandoval was his replacement? We also have Kutter coming back along with Dobbins and Fitts. We have Early, Harrison and Criswell along with Crochet and Bello. Have we given up already as a starter on Tolle? I'm guessing we still have new names in the organization such as this year's draftees. 15 of 20 draftees of 2025 were pitchers. Save the $20M and use it to acquire another need.
  11. I sure wish we could get rid of Yoshida. That will give our OF a chance to DH from time to time, especially Anthony who is playing all the games. Then with a full time 1B, that may free up Gonzalez to DH vs left handed pitcher when Anthony takes outfield. Cora has to juggle too many balls in the air. It needs to come down a bit and stabilize the roster.
  12. There’s also an overcrowded four-players-into-three-spots dilemma to be solved in the outfield and an undeniable need for additional power. So you are saying our management is not serious about upgrading what's needed?
  13. We need a proven power bat. Someone that can hit 40HR. I don't see anyone on this team with that power. Not even if reup Bregman. What one player signing would that be? Schwarber. Give the man his money.
  14. A message to Bresblows. Quit signing guys that's rehabbing. The team is full of broken down pitchers. You did the right thing by bringing in and extending Crochet. That should be the model. There's no substitute for ace quality starting pitching. If you want to win the whole enchilada, go fine arms. So what if you give up positional players. They are a dime a dozen.
  15. Whitlock is a Matt Barnes clone. A whimper and folds like a bad poker player.
  16. I just got in. If anyone needs an opener, it's Bello. He sucks in the first inning.
  17. wow, I was looking in wrong places. I didn't see him in prospect list. Good to know. Roman and Teel with 8 HR in 250+ at bats. I guess small sacrifice still for getting and extending Crochet, 6 more years starting in 2026.
  18. Cora should sit down Duran. I rather save him for pinch hitting when the righties come in......he can't hit lefties.
  19. Stating the obvious, pitching, defense and base running is more important than offense in a short series. The season record goes out the window if you have a true ace that's better than opposition's ace. Crochet, Chapman and look how we extended a single into the winning run with Judge not being able to throw over 80 mph from right center. Good job by Cora too. Definitely playing to win today, tomorrow. Joe Ryan, Joe Ryan Joe Ryan.
  20. I'm sitting here thinking Giolito injury may be beneficial. We can decline the mutual option and move on from his injury prone right arm. Quit chasing injured arms. I rather watch Early pitch.
  21. Do the hitters really need a break today? I'd want to play and hit.
