  1. It was good to see Alcala pitch last night. Up to 98 mph. Guerrero and Alcala are hard throwers. Only if they can locate their fastball.
  2. None of the veterans and our 'future' stars really didn't get to know him enough to care....... Let's just see what the future looks like and see how fast we get there. Crochet didn't give a damn. He and Bregman are the leaders. Hope we see Bregman for years to come. Extend him.
  3. Yankees have scored 5 runs or less in 6 games in 1908, 1968 and now 2025.
  4. Yanks down 0-4 in 8th. Toronto is down 2-4 in 7th. TB down 1-3 in 7th.Twins down 5-6 in 6th. All good.
  5. Just looking ahead to the Giants series, I see that they only have 1 lefty starting pitcher. Just a FYI..
  6. Not signing and retaining Betts has cost the organization time, money and effort they never dreamed of....It would have been cheaper to just give him $50M....because we have wasted tons of money trying to recover from that episode.
  7. Or how about the ultimate Sox trade? Alcantara for Miami is struggling this year coming off an injury. $17M this year and next, then a club option for $21M in 2027. Isn't this our bread and butter deal?
  8. Ryan O'Hern? He's having a good year even though he looks like a DH. I though he's played 1B before.
  9. I'm just curious what bats are available at the trade deadline? I'm guessing it maybe a veteran at 1B but what do you do with someone like Toro? Do we keep hoping for IL guys so we can keep them all? That doesn't sound like planning. Since we don't expect Casas to return anytime soon, maybe even not until mid-season next year, do we go for a multiple year guy at 1B?
  10. We're the only mlb team with 8-2 record over the last 10 games and also have the longest win streak, 6 straight (Phillies next with 5). Unreal last night that the Angels beat the Yankees in 11. 1-0. What the hell is going on with the Rays, how do they do it? We got some 'attitude' guys in our rotation. (it's a good quality). They all think they are better than the opposition.
  11. I think the Sox ultimately got what they wanted. A short term, higher AAV guy at 3B, who can hit and play better defense, and got rid of 8 1/2 years of 10 year, $313M contract. Bottom line. I do think Bres is salivating at that prospect of 'repurposing' the freed up money. He did not sign Devers and probably would never do that.
  12. He needed to be approached after the World Series and told that "hey, we maybe looking at a third baseman". I think he at least deserved that. Hell he's under team contract for 8 years. Poor communication.
  13. Here is my useless stat. Team's record with the starters this year. Our current five has combined 28-21 team record. Can someone enumerate power ranking for our relievers? I'll take #1 and say its Chapman (lol). I am just curious how Houck and couple of other relievers we acquired recently rank. 1 Crochet 15 9 - 6 2 Dobbins 9 6 - 3 3 Bello 11 6 - 5 4 Giolito 9 6 - 3 5 Buehler 11 7 - 4 6 Fitts 5 0 - 5 7 T Houck 9 2 - 7 8 Newcomb 5 2 - 3 74 38 - 36
  14. Platooning I can live with. Not full time and I certainly don't want to see him ever in the outfield. What the hell was Bloom thinking?
  15. I am just not a fan of Yoshida. He looks old, slow and unathletic. Does he "align" with our future? I don't think so.
  16. He may have a background in baseball but to me he speaks like an Ivy League law graduate. (hell maybe he is one, I don't know)
  17. Yep....we are all tired of rhetoric. I don't want to hear about your good intentions. Take action.
  18. There's constant chatter of 'alignment'. My thought is that has lot to do with Anthony and Mayer getting on the field. There will be more moves coming.
  19. “It’s important to point out that this is in no way signifying a waving of the white flag on 2025,” Breslow said prior to Monday’s game in Seattle. “We are as committed as we were six months ago to putting a winning team on the field, to competing for the division and making a deep postseason run.”
  20. “In the end, I think it's pretty clear that we couldn't find alignment with Raffy,” said Red Sox president/CEO Sam Kennedy. “We all worked at it over the last several months, going back to the offseason, starting with Alex Cora and Craig and the staff, and then up to me, and all the way up to John Henry.
  21. “The timing was absolutely not great,” said Breslow. “And we don't always have the choice about when these things kind of reach the point of execution outside of … we absolutely could have walked away or said we're not going to make this trade, but we do ultimately believe that it was best for the organization.”
