  1. He has the lowest walk rate per 9 innings on our staff. He challenges the hitters. He'll give up home runs because he will make mistakes in the strike zone. Just think about his pitch count of 64 over 5 innings. I rather watch him pitch over Bello any time. So sick and tired of major leaguers that can't throw strikes. Nothing irks me more than watching Bello get ahead in the count 0-2 then go to 3-2 count. No wonder he has trouble getting through the fourth inning. It's a miracle when he's not over 80 pitches after 5 innings.
  2. Thanks for that observation. He did not walk a batter in 5 innings. His pitch count was relatively low. If you can"t throw strikes, you are not a major league pitcher. I am impressed.
  3. We just gave up 9 9 7 7 runs yet won 3 out of 4. Offense can't keep this up. Pitching has to get better.
  4. How about Whit getting one out. He'll need couple of days iff now.
  5. What a freaking' joke...3 walks and a homer Where do we find these guys?
  6. Another fine outing by Whitlick. A hit and bases loaded walk. What a disappointment. He sucks.
  7. Cora understands the excitement surrounding Anthony. “I think every market goes through this, right?” Cora said. “I think Kansas City (with No. 19 prospect Jac Caglianone) went through it, right, the last two months or whatever it was. I bet there’s other teams that have good players in the minor leagues and their fan base and people are gonna talk about it. So that’s part of the job.” No other team has a #1 prospect Alex. Hell, it's not up to him. He has no idea when the call up is coming. Why doesn't he just say it's not up to me?
  8. Ok, I'll admit. It's nice having Toro right now. He can play both corner positions and he's a switch hitter. We go lefty lefty, then 7 righties. Great to have options.
  9. I'm looking forward to watching Dobbins. The team is 4-3 in games started by Dobbins. Here's our current rotation. 8-6 The Wheel (yesterday made up for all of his losses in no run support) 5-4 The Opener 4-3 140 Innings or Bust 6-4 Ferris
  10. Did anyone see the video of Narvaez point of view on the ball hit to the right side for a single? Campbell was frozen. He DID NOT take a false step towards second base. He froze and allowed the ball to go through the infield. I am glad he's with us. I'm glad that he was extended. But, he has been horrendous since April. He can't get the ball in flight. His second hit barely got airborne. Something is amiss. Send him back to AAA and let him work it out. Get his confidence back. If he's not mentally tough to handle that then the entire organization misread him.
  11. I'm not in favor of firing anyone. Brez did take actions during off season. It's easier to build a team around Crochet, who will be with us for 6 more years beginning in 2026. But I'm showing my displeasure with the Anthony situation. What's the hold up? You can't continue with the daily dose of he'll be up at some point.
  12. Thanks for noticing that.....that's at least twice he's done that this week. Keep the single hitter off second base. Geez I told my 12 year olds that 30 years ago.
  13. 97 pitches thrown by 3 relievers last night, thanks to Buehler. Luckily Crochet if going. It would be nice to see him go 8, then close out with Chapman.
  14. Well Cora is managing with one hand tied behind his back, courtesy of Breslow.
  15. Quit avoiding the inevitable......Mayer is our future at short, not Story. Hell move him to short. He is just so fragile, he can break any minute playing short. We got a big retrieve by acquiring Carlos Narvaez to replace Teel. Now it appears we need a replacement for Wong.
  16. Exactly. Someone needs to be an adult here, sooner the better. Duran, Rafaela and Abreu may be outstanding in the future. They all can better at something. But not at the expense of keeping down a #1 MLB prospect. Other than the fact that Anthony's promotion is 'blocked', it's management's own doing. Someone has to go and Abreu may be the guy. Duran to me still has more of an upside as a leadoff hitter than Abreu. We can always trade Chapman if we become a seller, then resign him with bigger contract during winter. At this rate, I would make certain Giolito doesn't eclipse 140 innings, not sure if he would have any value at the trade deadline though. I think we should hang on to Houck because he will come cheap for 2026, his first arb year. We need to figure out what plans we can have with trio of young pitchers, Criswell, Dobbins and Fitts. We still have Kutter returning and possibly Sandoval. With Bregman, I am intrigued with what he may return. The big question is if he was to leave at after the season, we would only get the relief of his salary. I may trade him and go after him aggressively, offering him a multi year deal. 'Pay the man what he wants"
  17. Only 5 teams in AL has negative one run games. 4-16 White Sox 6-17 Red Sox 9-13 Rangers 7-10 Athletics 7-9 Twins The Angels are the best at 10-4. In AL East, no one other than the Sox has a losing record in one run games, and has a combined 39-36 record.
  18. I was surprised too. They are second in the league in runs scored behind the Yankees and we are third.
  19. Here's our rotation set as of today. Buehler GS 9 team record 6-3 Crochet GS 13 team record 7-6 Dobbins GS 7 team record 4-3 Bello GS 9- team record 5-4 Giolito GS 7 team record 4-3 Total GS 45 team record 26-19 Fitts (5) Houck (9) and Newcomb (5) combined for 4-15 team record. Interesting that despite our starter issues, we're not terrible in terms of quality starts. Not supporting good pitching by Crochet and losing record in one run losses are main reasons for our losing record.(along with defense, striking out, not playing #1 prospect in the country, etc, etc, etc) Rays (32), Royals (31), Astros (29), Rangers (25), Sox (24), Angels (24), Yankees (23), Mariners (23), Jays (21), White Sox (20), Tigers (20), Orioles (19), Twins (18), Athletics (18) and Guardians (14).
  20. It should have a wide balcony so the Sox can sell more tickets.
  21. He made a great deal to acquire Chris Sale. He knew that there was a player better than highly expensive Moncada. Of course that turned out to be Devers. You and I both hated to give up Kopech but that deal worked our well. That was a bold move and allowed us to have the 2018 magical season. You have to admit the % are always higher that prospects become a bust more often than not. If you are going to spend to the tax limit each year, I'd hire DD in a second.
  22. Great observation. Next time I hear either Brez or Cora say he's still working to get better, I will vomit. He has nothing more to learn at AAA competition.
