  1. Sorry, it's only for 'qualified' players. We don't get to 15 because a team may have multiple players playing that position or especially in the catching category, it's hard for one catcher to play enough games to 'qualify'. So in Rafaela's case, only 8 players in AL out of 15 teams 'qualify' in center field. (enough AB or probably plate appearance).
  2. Getting a second ace like pitcher is the fastest way for this team to become playoff bound. Pitching rules.
  3. Going with youth.... Anthony-LF Mayer-SS Narvaez-C Rafaela-CF Abreu-RF Veteran keepers, Bregman-3B I'm over Duran. Having moved out of lead off bat, he has become 'pedestrian'. Need 1B and 2B. Rotate in above 6 at DH. Might as well bring up Grissom and Password.
  4. Duran has become very average Cumulative OPS .714. He is 8/9 of qualified center fielders in AL. .759 April OPS .697 May OPS .653 June OPS Steadily going down.
  5. Ralaela .682 April OPS .698 May OPS .920 June OPS .719 cumulative OPS is 6/8 in AL. With his defense, he is doing great lately.
  6. Story .784 ops in June .432 ops in May .757 ops in April I will shut up. He is playing his best. He is12/12 in AL ops at .633 though. May really hurt him.
  7. I appreciate Cora doing everything he can to win each game. I really do. The problem with playing so many players at different positions is that defense suffers as result of it. We can talk about how these are professionals and that they should be able to field a position but the reality obviously is not as easy as we think. If having a left handed hitter requires an automatic platooning, why have a left handed dominant team? Why not just go for Bregman's of the world. I think Cora loves getting involved at all times and I'm not sure if it's best for the team. Breslow keeps talking about building a team that can consistently win but I don't see that taking place. I rather see Mayer moved to short, where we were told that's his position. Move Story to second. Plug someone at third who can play defense. See how simple that is? We have two pretty good defenders not playing at their best position. It's a struggle at 2B anyway, plugging someone at 3B won't be much worse. Having 3 left handed bats in the OF for 2 spots is not sustainable. Sure we have the DH spot but what happens when a lefty is on the mound? I'm sorry. This feels like a MASH unit.
  8. Giolito had only throw 83 pitches. You have to let these veterans throw 100 pitches. Was it too hot in San Fran today? Crochet, Buehler and Giolito should get 100 pitches as long as the team is in the game. I think Giolito is a gutsy pitcher. When he sucks, he sucks and admits it. But he's pitched well on road games this year. Take him out if we were down but it was 5-5 I think. Pitching Pitching Pitching....find a 2nd ace.
  9. We need a better back up pitcher....399 OPS at 6/21?
  10. Story will go on a hot streak from time to time but he is not a good hitter. When he gets on, it's more of ball finding the bat, not the bad making the contact with the ball. I don't have anything against him but I just don't like him.
  11. He got to throw strikes, especially when he's ahead in counts. Too often he converts 0-2 1-2 counts into 3-2.
  12. We need for Cubs to take down Seattle this weekend.
  13. 4 walks and he's done......otherwise we're good. I doubt they'll knock him out with hits.
  14. We're almost at half way point. Rafaela has already walked 14 times this year. He only walked 15 time all last year. I just think it's pretty funny. It's pretty sad for ME that a veteran making $22M and struggling a bit has walked only 14 times this year. You know who it is. Ugh.
  15. This was my response to Is Breslow already in a hot seat on another site? My guess is John Henry thinks Breslow is doing a good job. Breslow brought in an outside firm to go through the organizational personnel and fired over 50 non-essential employees, including several scouts as results. I bet John Henry loved getting rid of bloated Sox personnel. If NOTHING else trading for Crochet and extending him for 6 years beginning 2026 was a big deal. That's the biggest leap in improving our organization. I really don't care that Devers is gone. His days were numbered as soon as Bregman was signed, another great get by Breslow. It was 50% luck I'm sure but signing Chapman to a 1 year deal at $10.75M was another shrewd move. (you just never know how the relievers turn out. just look at Hendriks) Breslow kept insisting that Sox needed a clear lane to bring up Anthony. Devers' trade more than anything else allowed that to happen. He is improving the Sox bit by bit. Each player has a value attached to him. Devers playing a position at $30M is lot more palpable for me than a $30M DH despite the fact that we did it to him. No fault of Devers. Why in the hell would JH fire Breslow?
  16. Crochet 16 10 - 6 Dobbins 9 7 - 3 Bello 11 6 - 5 Giolito 9 6 - 3 Buehler 12 7 - 5 36 - 22 This worthless stat says the team is doing okay when this starting five is pitching,
  17. Your BUDGET is based on cash payroll basis yet you throw out there $240M budget which in reality is measured on luxury tax payroll basis. Mixing your financials partly cash and partly accrual? Confusing.
  18. I enjoy following this team with the additions of Crochet, Chapman, Bregman along with our newbies Anthony, Mayer and Narvaez. I like Breslow more than Cora. Isn't Breslow a John Henry clone with baseball knowledge?
  19. When Bregman returns we should move Story to 2B and Mayer to SS. Put the FUTURE in right spots.
  20. You don't have to be negative about Devers but all the ass kissing is going to make me puke.
  21. Maybe Whitlock can pitch today with one day of rest. He only threw 9 pitches. He's only pitched back to back days once this year and he did just fine.
  22. I seem to recall after the All Star game,we play both the Nationals and the Rockies. We also play the Athletics 6 times in September.
  23. Cleveland and Toronto lost. Rays also lost. 12 teams within 2 1/2 games of wildcard spot.
