  1. Cora better put a pitcher in #1 spot and leave Arroyo in.....
  2. We now have 11 hits and 1 walk, When we get 12 runners on base, we're 28-3. We got this.
  3. Batting OPS AL 1st .672 13th 2nd .816 5th 3rd .918 3rd 4th .904 3rd 5th .881 3rd 6th .664 10th 7th .562 13th 8th .745 1st 9th .558 11th Look at the 8th spot. Yes we're #1 in AL. Twins come in second at .705. Bobby Dalbec has most AB among 8th hitters for Sox. His OPS is 1.156. Hunter Renfroe is next with 48 AB. His OPS is .875. Just bat Dalbec 8th and his hitting woes are solved. Can someone tell Cora? LOL.
  4. COCKROACHES....I will never forget Al Pacino saying "Cockroaches" in Scarface.
  5. Weber was 3rd in innings pitched last year. Ugh.
  6. Walk off in the 10th, White Sox defeat the Rays 8-7. A rare two game losing streak for Rays.
  7. This is the third time this season Sox is 14 games over .500. Let's push it, men.
  8. We're 28-3 when we get 12 runners on base......go Sox.
  9. Rodriguez lasted just four innings, leaving a bad taste in the mouth of manager Alex Cora. “We had a five-run lead and you saw what happened,” Cora said. “He had the bottom of the lineup and he didn’t do the job. I think, early on, he established his fastball and he did a good job. But then, he wasn’t able to execute.” Remarkably, Rodriguez now owns a 7.63 ERA (37 earned runs in 43 ⅔ innings) in nine starts dating back to May 1 and been lifted before the fifth inning in four of his last five outings. Cora has always been tough on E Rod. He doesn't baby him.
  10. Really good point....
  11. I like to think we're deeper in terms of offensive arsenal than the Rays. I just don't see any difference moving our 2-5 to 1-4 spots. None whatsoever. Perhaps Verduo, Xander, JD and Devers have all approached Cora and said no f***ing way.
  12. I bet the leadoff hitter for Sox has more information on opposing starter than notin's daughter.
  13. Random Stats Average on base per game (H, BB, IBB, HBP) 12 per game Record with 12 or more on base 28-3 Record with less than 12 on base 13-24 I have no idea what the hell this means.....Maybe it just says our pitching has been pretty good.
  14. It'll be interesting to see if Chavis will get some at bats. Dalbec had two hits last night so that was good.
  15. I don't have any issues with Kike playing. Just leading off but that's not his fault. It's not like he went to Cora and said I only want to bat leadoff.
  16. Boston Red Sox prospect Brayan Bello’s fastball has reached triple-digits and his changeup plays with ‘really good arm speed,’ late fade It's subscriber based so I won't post it. A 22 year old Dominican Republic native. He began the season as #24 prospect, now up to #9. Throws plus changeup and also a slider. Signed as 5-10, 150 lbs, now up to 6-1 and 170 lbs. Promoted to Double A from High A during 2021.
  17. Crawford’s return from Tommy John Kutter Crawford, a 25-year-old righty, has a 3.54 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and .200 batting average against in five start for Double-A Portland as he returns this season from Tommy John surgery. He has allowed either 0 runs or 1 run in four of his five starts. He has four walks and 25 strikeouts in 20 ⅓ innings (1.8 walks per nine innings, 11.1 strikeouts per nine innings). Red Sox pitching prospect Josh Winckowski said he’s impressed with how Crawford approaches the game and his calmness on the mound. “His mechanics, I love watching him pitch, specifically his lower half. That’s kind of something I’ve been taking note of,” Winckowski said. “He controls the game really well and he mixes his pitches really good. I’ve heard after Tommy John he’s kind of like transformed his body and gotten into way better shape. So it’s been really exciting to see him do well this year. I think he’s got really good stuff and he knows how to use it.” The righty throws a fastball, changeup, curveball and cutter. Like Chris Sale, he is a Florida Gulf Coast University alum. He was a 16th-round pick in 2017 — but he’s not pitching like the 491st overall pick. He has a 3.38 ERA in 52 minor league starts. Per MassLive.....Great name for a pitcher.... “The hitters, it feels like they generally don’t have a shot,” Winckowski said. “Generally, it feels like a few things have to go wrong for Kutter to give up some runs.
  18. Had we signed Betts to 10 YR $400M deal, we would not be having this discussion about the leadoff hitter.
  19. If that's true, then JD who is probably our best hitter would be batting second. I think this is a topic that can never be resolved. Cora is a very good manager and I wouldn't trade him for another. I think I'm more frustrated with his explanation more than anything else. I rather him tell a reporter, I'm the manager and this is my lineup. Furck off.
  20. I don't get where Cora thinks Verdugo would not hit as well leading off. I bet you $100 that he's lead off more than any other #2 hitter in the league due to our #1 1)not getting on base in 1st inning 2)making the third out. He is essentially leading off. How can we be anymore top heavy? If anything % of Verdugo getting up for 5th time will definitely increase. It certainly won't go down. Mathematically what he says is BS.
  21. Good Analysis. I don't think you have the $15-$16M for David Price. I have sign and trade for both Richards and Perez. That will offset David Price money. I'm also going over the tax line significantly for 2022 for adding the second 'ace' type. We've always agreed that in order to strengthen starting rotation is to get #1 type and slot everyone else one spot below. I'm assuming Sale is coming back to his old self. I'm assuming CF, 1B and 2B will be filled internally. I'm clearing out everyone so we can have 2 #1 types. We clear out some of the money issue for 2023 when Price money goes away, Eovaldi's $17M is gone and replaced internally and JD's $22M is gone and replaced internally. Some of that money can be used to extend Devers, Xander and pay for further arbitration increases. I'm counting on Bloom to acquire and develop talent for internal replacements. That's what he does well. We'll always be competitive with healthy Sale, Verlander and Syndergaard. That's a group I'd go to war with.
  22. Typing was required class in my high school. I think I typed 34 words a minute or something. I think I got a C in class.
  23. I will pass emphatically on a guy batting .104 with OPS of .460. We're in a pennant race.
  24. I'll address 2022 in my next post. My post was about 2022. Instead of going from 0 baseline, I like to start with current year numbers and then add and subtract. This way I don't miss much. In addition to Price ($16M) and Eovaldi ($17M), JD ($22M) and possibly Xander ($20M) will come off the books at the end of 2022. That's $72M total.
  25. Yep, for sure. But we've not given up any young players in the process. Our farm is intact and we should get something in return for couple of the players. I'm good with 'buying' players. It's just money.
