  1. What a stupid take...The Sox were on a high, winning, you know what you should want as a fan when Devers was hastily dealt while Bregman on injured list. So wallowing about how bad the Sox are and then saying Devers won't make a difference for Giants--sorry he made a difference for Sox as a consistent run producer. What he does for Giants has zippo effect on the Sox...what he did for Sox and the bad clubhouse effect he had on the team--so he had to go right?...yeah, right, the whole stupid narrative. Breslow is a an all-time joke as GM, his rookie mistakes and his admission of poor communication....that just adds to how idiotic his business move on Devers (unload the contract) was. At the time of the trade, the Sox were without a doubt playing their best baseball of the season. And Breslow killed the '25 team in its tracks.
  2. probably, but the only rats I have seen lately are plastic thrown at Marchand.
  3. In 2018, Cora had Betts 1.078 OPS, .346, 47 doubles, 32 HR, had JD 1.031 OPS, 43 HR, 130 RBI, had Xander 23 HR, 103 RBI, had Benintendi 16 HR, 87 RBI, had Devers 21 HR, 68 RBI, had a great defensive CF in Bradley, had Vazquez-Leon catching duo, had Mitch Moreland at 1b, added Steve Pearce to be a clutch HR hitter in playoffs, a real bench guy in Holt, had Price, Eavoldi, Sale, Porcello, Kimbrel (fell apart in postseason)....in other words, they had monster talent and real MLB players. He has a glorified minor league team with a few over the hill veterans, one real pitching ace, a real closer, and that's it. This isn't losing the clubhouse, it's grasping for straws with the absolute joke of a roster these past few seasons. It's a clown car. I'd probably still fire him, but it's all on the front office.
  4. I had an opportunity to go to any of the 3 games, and I am very pleased with myself that I avoided the drive and the effort and the money spent for a waste of fanship. It's a small market product for big market prices. Awful.
  5. I love the narrative that the Sox were put in a corner, or they were pressured, or Raffy pressured them, or a demand had to be met...bull all to the you know what...Sox knew exactly what it was doing and it was killing the '25 Sox in its tracks...You can't always time a deal, but the Sox were on a terrific high and run and they had to do it...they just couldn't help themselves and too many fans have eaten it up and said it's justified...it's incredible how the Sox themselves didn't take into consideration Devers' offensive value and his contributions or why they gave him a ton of money in first place..you want to compete, you pay for real talent.
  6. The Sox were on fire, on a roll, everything was clicking, the wins, the Wild Card race and then Henry did it..he trades Devers...and apparently team spokesman and full-time RH only batter Refsnyder (honestly love the guy and he does produce and he is a consistent hitter) said he couldn't understand why the hitting dropped off this trip...let's see...ummm...must be a clubhouse problem affecting the young kids...ummm...yeah, that's it, that's the ticket. So Devers trade did what? KILLED THE SOX IN 2025
  7. At this point, it doesn't matter what the Sox do...the AL might suck, but they gave up on 2025 already. Trade them all, who cares. Look what Crochet might get back??? Wow, what a haul...which would then continue the clown car too.
  8. Maybe should have tried to sign an actual power hitter when they had a chance in Schwarber WHO AT AGE 29 led MLB with 46 HR, 94 RBI because the Sox as usual didn't value a star power swinger..sure he had a bad season after that but even at .197 he had 47, 104, then 38, 104, and now 24, 55 with a .920 OPS...way to go Sox, go get Yoshida and Story!!!....idiots.. His average would be 25 points higher in Fenway.
  9. But let's just say that if the Sox want to "blow it up," it's blow up what? They have a s***** overall roster, pitching is mostly bad after one great SP and one great closer
  10. right, but Rice was a rookie in 1974 (came up for the last month) and Duran literally played his first full season as a regular in 2024...in MLB years, he is at age 5 overall--24 when he got his first ABs in 2021...completely different than a Devers, Rice, Lynn..guys who were already bashing balls for years before age 28. Duran is just becoming a true MLB player and he has All-Star on his resume.
  11. Exactly. This team is a joke because they have zero consistency in the lineup with guys who are in and out of lineup on still platoon basis no matter what. No star hitters left other than Bregman. Duran at least has the ability to do some good things at the plate and can run the bases even though he won't match 2024 or may never match that. But he's in the prime of his career starting now. So naturally trade him too.
  12. He led the AL in ABs, doubles, triples just last year. He's 28, I guess on the Sox that's over the hill.
  13. I thought Duran was part of the youth movement...so this is another example that maybe better off relying on veteran talent. Okay, duly noted.
  14. Rice crossed the line when he tried to impart wisdom to a Sox prospect on hitting. Shame on him, the Sox swing for the fences philosophy has paid off gang-busters.
  15. This team is an embarrassment...no lead is safe, no pitching performance is good enough, no offense, no defense....small market approach to winning. Bad team.
  16. I really stopped watching religiously several years ago. It is tough to watch, and it shouldn't be. It should be some super highs, great rallies, long win streaks or stretches, and feel of being super competitive. I think the first Verdugo season I enjoyed watching them battle. But when you have a .500 type team and it's a lineup of kids (when do they become viable hitters?) and utility guys. They wanted to trade Rafaela a month ago to open space and he's at least entertaining. Anyway, I do watch the mini highlights but I have taped a few games and erased them once I heard the score. Angels I usually actually attend a game, can't make myself drive an hour-and-a-half and would have had Devers still been a Sox.
  17. Probably a good time to start firing the staff--pitching coach and manager...Breslow's short time as GM could get shorter too. Cora lost the clubhouse, oh wait, did he ever have the clubhouse?
  18. Well, at least Devers isn't around as it might affect the clubhouse
  19. Ortiz did not back Manny, Pedro did...Ortiz was as selfish a player as any other during his Sox playing career....Ortiz was upset at Devers because I don't think he responded to some of his personal texts...Love Big Papi, but not going to say he doesn't flip-flop on things, and let's face it--still questions that he was on a list that indicated he used PEDs--he got a free pass when a few others did not.
  20. I'd say defense for whatever reason has slipped through the cracks in the shaping of the roster. How long can the Sox be one of the worst fielding teams in MLB. At same time, the flip side are injured pitchers, under-achieving veteran pitchers, then the mostly inconsistent offense. It's a lot to fix.
  21. It's all good as far as criticizing, praising, getting excited. I just get soured every time I think or feel like oh the team is moving in the right direction. How long can we keep talking about all these prospects at the AA/AAA level. It's like some come up, some look like can't misses, then are the opposite. Others get injured, others fizzle out enough to be moved to another organization. Some feel Henry should never be under scrutiny--I'd say then accept this mediocrity because to me this is mediocrity and has been that way like you said more or less for a number of years now.
  22. I cherry picked that the Giants just took 2 of 3 v. Sox...sorry I'll stop cherrypicking. Maybe I should stop cherry-picking that the Sox are a pedestrian 40-39 when the consensus pre-season was a lot better.
