  1. You are in the postseason, as a player or a pitcher, you're mindthought has got to be, I'm ready at a moment's notice..if you are worried about injury or arm sore, etc, then don't play the game.
  2. no offense, but other than Romy (who tapped out a few times) and Refsnyder, who exactly does hit lefties on Sox??
  3. Are we really complaining or upset about decision making by Sox leaders at this point??? It's all Henry's master plan...and damn if I'm going to question anything anymore.
  4. so what? Honestly, they trotted out the weakest lineup in Sox playoff history on Tuesday and it still resulted in a win. So if a computer spits out the lineup and Breslow can trade Devers and Breslow can stay quiet at trade deadline and guys like Sogard and Eaton and Yoshida can have key ABs...so be it.
  5. As a long, long time Sox fan going back to my love for '75 Sox, I can't help but think this is like gravy-all of this...I loved yesterday's win...what a game and what a great job by Cora...Maybe this team has some mojo, maybe it was the plane ride, the Devers trade, the constant criticism of Yoshida and the spare parts that clearly already are paying dividends..then look at the faith in Story and the FA big move of getting Bregman.. Playoff Alexs...Crochet is Tiant/Lonborg/Clemens/Pedro/Schilling/Lester all in one...Chapman might as well be Koji at this point. Go Sox!! I'm excited for first time in a few years.
  6. no way, Duran plays and should play...if he gets on, he can be a threat and if he connects at short porch, again HR...But then you have Abreu and I feel he should always be in the lineup. But Cora has pushed all the right buttons, and frankly never thought Sogard, Eaton would be getting big hits in the postseason. Anything Alex does for now on, honestly, he's a pretty damn good postseason manager. Go Sox!
  7. Congratulations to the die-hard fans in here and the Sox making it into the postseason. Breslow got away with the Devers dump trade and not really adding at the trade deadline. Give a lot of credit to Story's comeback season, Bregman stabalizing force, Duran having great 2nd half, and the pitching with Crochet being the Ace..Go Sox!!! Breslow/Cora good for both.
  8. sounds like this Breslow guy is pushing the right buttons. May Day to the rescue
  9. Story is a unique free agent signing in Sox history. Almost disappointing the 1st year limited to 94 games, then 2 lost years with injuries...and now he is EXACTLY what the Sox hoped/needed..A shortstop with range, who can run the bases well, hit for power, produce RBI....and he's a leader. I have ripped him to shreds over the past few years--only because the money invested seemed a complete waste...until it wasn't. Now it's an asset. So that's what I mean by unique. A 4-year delay on what the Sox/fans were hoping to happen.
  10. 19 teams in MLB have a .495 (16 over .500) or higher win percentage. Only the Brewers are .600 and the Tigers lost 11 of 12 (since started winning again) and a .580 still gives them 8-game lead in the AL Central. There are no real powerhouses and the few that were are having major issues in the post-All-Star Game stretch. So that just means the Sox are in this whole enchilada and ought to just play it out--this team has Morgan Magic and 2013 (platoon) vibes. Go Sox!
  11. could be procedural to then bring him back for a start in 10 days
  12. Sox 9-1 in last 10 Crochet starts and he threw zeros in 7 IP in the only Sox loss in 10 inn v. Halos on June 24. He is Cy Young but Skubal will probably beat him out. Guy is such a Stopper. He is Tiant, Pedro, Rocket, Schilling...he gets it done.
  13. .596 is the best winning percentage in MLB right now-Brewers. Tigers falling apart and still lead AL tied with Blue Jays at .577...Sox are .541 with I guess lesser overall talent, so Sox are still in a race for playoffs, race for WS title. It's so up in the air even after a quiet Deadline, Devers trade, Mayer injury, Campbell slumped out off roster..hard to not like the '25 Sox with Bregman, Crochet, Anthony, Duran, Narvaez, Chapman, Story playing like a real leader last few months too...Go Sox!
  14. Sox were MLB best (tied?) 17-7...this is a good trend going into an August feel-good, walk-off win. Anthony continues to be clutch, should have had GW hit v. Twins too if not for Hicks meltdown after rain delay
  15. "Glad they didn't trade Duran" is now the rallying cry of the 2025 Sox Trade Deadline moves or lack there of.
  16. there is a weird thing about this whole affair...but I think '04 was about getting the defensive minded Cabrera to complete the puzzle at SS and then adding Roberts (a la Hamilton) for stealing bases and Mankayvitch (phonetic spelling) for backup 1b...Nomar was batting .321 after coming back from an injury layoff, not like he wasn't hitting--his defense range declined.
  17. I actually remember when Shelly Winters was hot. Well when I was watching her early work in film
  18. now if we can get a Bond girl on the plane, now you're talking Mile High Club
  19. Also should MLB hitters get credit for home runs or hits off position players? Maybe there should be a category for that.
  20. Duran has to stop hitting, this is just not good for morale in the Sox forum
  21. Wong said hey now, I can get to .180, got to give me some time to get there, but I will
  22. Yoshida saw my text go social media and said "I am not a void in the lineup, damnit!"
  23. Yeah, the guy to trade is Duran clearly as he is becoming Devers, Diva hitter who knocks in runs, hits for power...maybe time to dump him to not make the other part of the order look bad.
