  1. This is a streak that borderlines absurd and amazing.
  2. There were great moments last year, making the postseason was exciting and playing Yanks was pretty cool. But I think this stretch was out of left field. It was on no one's bingo card or parlay.
  3. Great for die-hard Sox fans to see this bout of success. It's been a while since the town is rocking and winning has been hard to come by with this franchise last several years.
  4. Winning is contagious, but you have to have pitching and the pitching is beyond remarkable. It's completely taken the pressure off the offense, and now the offense is starting to awake. The power of Abreu and Contreras sprinkled in with several guys who are now also hitting dingers, doubles. I'm completely blown away by this turnaround. It was unexpected and with guys no one heard of like Seigler, Cheng, and others turning things around like Durbin, even Duran in some spots. Sky is the limit at this point, playing with house money and certainly Breslow must be in complete glee over all of his moves working.
  5. I'm not sure what they are drinking or eating, but don't change a thing...Is this the Romy effect? When Yoshida is hitting home runs you know something is going right. Anyway, great for Tracy and the Sox players. I'm the first to rip management and rightfully so, but they are pulling themselves out of a major hole and I didn't expect anything like this a month ago. From no hope, to hope.
  6. Got to give credit where credit is due...Sox playing better and pitching is lights out most nights--Bennett been terrific..seems like the return of Romy G has been a big lift too.. Contreras hitting like a monster...better than all the losing...does it matter after their terrible start? No, but who knows if they can keep this up with all the injuries--no Anthony, no Crochet..Breslow has to feel really good because first the team is winning finally and then the Stevens/Celts owner nonsense over the J. Brown awful trade...worse than Devers. Takes all that pressure off of him from Boston media for a while.
  7. Contreras apparently the only guy who actually drives in a run
  8. at least the Sox evaluation team and analytics crew sped up the Sox games by having players who swing first pitch and pop up
  9. Is there a dumber question, then trade the only player on the team that has their eyes open when they swing?
  10. When are we allowed to say Fire Breslow?
  11. Referring to his comment that fans want to tear things down, so do GMs it seems in certain areas.
  12. After the fact, it's easy to validate Devers, Bregman and others...but people don't take into account how some of the players thrived as hitters in Fenway, some great players over the years used Fenway to their advantage. Not saying Bregman, Devers (and others) were going to be on the downside, but it makes a difference where you hit half of a season.
  13. DIdn't Breslow tear it all down with the coaching staff?
  14. The Sox basically have become "unwatchable." Never thought it would be possible. They are not entertaining, fans are given the worst home team in baseball by far.
  15. He was saddled with s*** for offense. Working with s***. How did we do on the Devers, Betts and Sale trades?...Breslow is pathetic...as far as changing managers, that's fine, agreed hired to be fired but make no mistake Cora pushed for Bregman and the Sox couldn't even re-up him. You can only do so much with s*** for offense.
  16. Breslow surrounded himself with non-baseball advisors, non-MLB experienced people. He traded Kyle Harrison which proves he didn't do his "homework" as the Sox continue to get nothing out of the Betts or Devers trades. He fires his entire baseball coaching staff because clearly WS winning Cora (who led team to a WC spot a year earlier) and Tek don't know what they are doing. Now that Anthony and Crochet clearly were rushed back in rehab, maybe Breslow should now fire the entire medical staff, doctors, trainers, everyone. Breslow should have been fired yesterday. It's a mess. He interviews Schwarber on zoom and doesn't even offer the power hitter the Sox desperately needed. He undervalued Bregman...the guy needs to go.
  17. From Globe, yikes The offense has reached levels of futility unseen since the dead-ball era. The Sox have scored just 22 runs in their last 12 home games, tied for the fewest over any 12-game home stretch in a single season in Fenway Park history and the lowest since 1917.
  18. Well, Nomar defense did same in 2004
  19. Story was great last year for once, Bregman was awesome enough and awesome enough in some clutch ABs, or why he is such a great performer, or why he was signed...The Sox had platoon infielders who suddenly performed in the Yanks series...they had Refsnyder during the reg season and he was pretty much most consistent hitter, and they had Romy who also hit lefties...this is a completely different team offensively in so many ways...Anthony was pretty great til he got hurt (sounds like the Poitras thing all over again in a B's comparison). This is not just standing pat, it's they were asking to be a banjo team and they got it. No power, and now not even any OBP to speak of.
  20. can Nostradamus hit a baseball? Sign him up.
  21. inefficiency is like saying play responsible 200-foot hockey and don't make mistakes and don't take chances...that resulted in: 1 goal, 1 goal, 1 goal, 1 goal...last 240 regulation minutes. Be afraid, be very afraid!
