  1. I had a chance to continue a streak of watching the Sox in person when they were in Anaheim (only time didn't see Sox was pandemic year)....I ended it on my own...why? I couldn't justify driving there to watch a team that is hard to stomach, a team that 5 years ago I saw game 5 at Dodger Stadium and the Sox were the best, and proved they were the best, and had all the guns for the future...nope, blow it all up. Well congratulations..what did I miss when they lost 3 in Anaheim? Nothing. They sucked and I missed nothing. Pathetic, and sad.
  2. The fact some of these former Sox continue to show their brilliance--like Mookie, like Eavoldi, Wacha, JD's recent hot spurt, etc...only tells me how the Sox have become an all-time joke now. Fans think signing 6-team, journeyman Refsnyder is great and then writers saying "Sox are in no position to trade for a starting pitcher."...say what? This is insanity. Upside down world where now the Sox have to hope the Japanese import continues to hit to make up for the other pathetic hitters strewn across the Sox lineup. Has beens, never wills, and Devers...wow, what a great sign for the future!!! Go Sox!! Let's hope Sale comes back! Can't wait for injury-prone Story or Duvall, they will bring us back to greatness!!! 80 year old Justin Turner Clubhouse Leader!! Kike, he's Nomar and Bogie in one body!! Whatever....bad team, bad GM, bad outlook...fans accepting of the mediocrity.
  3. Bloom is like a guy having a bad streak at the blackjack table...He is feeling good with 2 tens in his hand against a 12 and dealer draws 9...he likes his chances with 2 queens, deal draws to 20 for a push...then he just makes bad moves, he decides to f*** the odds and with a 17 v. a 10, he draws and goes over, while the other card underneath is a 3 and then the dealer busts out...that's Bloom.
  4. Story's signing is the albatross now.
  5. All valid points, moon, so it comes down to is Henry calling these shots?
  6. John Henry can have the longest leach, but if you want to compete for another title anytime soon, you fire Bloom, and you do it yesterday...
  7. Wacha and Eavoldi were just named NL/AL Pitchers of the Month....you can't make this stuff up.
  8. Bloom is killing the franchise. Killing it. Unwatchable team...
  9. JD 12 HR, 39 RBI, .278...Turner 6 HR, 22 RBI, .267....JD is also getting hotter.
  10. Eovaldi went 4-0 with a 0.96 ERA in May while averaging nearly 7 2/3 innings per start. He leads the Majors with 74 1/3 innings pitched and two complete games while also boasting a top-five ERA in the AL.
  11. Come on Moon, he is terrible. Yeah, letting go of Eavoldi, and please stop if anyone says Justin Turner is an improvement on super hot now JD. Verdugo and his War stats v. Betts, who has a greater impact on his team? The team is tough to watch, they are not entertaining. Kike is not very good, and was signed. The Story signing is/was and still is a disaster. JBJ? Yeah, trading away Hunter was an abject failure. Kluber, yes horrible. Should I applaud him that he has the greatest catching tandem of Wong-McGuire? Clap, clap. Constantly relying on Sale, let's squeeze the lemon as far we can. Enough. And Casas and Dalbec, the kids, they suck and playing more kids who suck, great. They unloaded a talented group and some important clubhouse guys. They suck. Period. Sale said it best "I suck." Well, he didn't this year so far, but the team does. Lastly, the Sox act like they are a budget-strapped franchise with a salary cap. They aren't.
  12. Rationalizing horrible and bad, shrugging shoulders hey there are other teams either in same boat or there are teams that are just good enough to compete...all of this is a reflection of the Sox making one poor decision after another in player personnel. This is Bloom, this all Bloom...a Blooming Failure.
  13. At least they didn't sign Eavoldi, don' t want an ace like that on your roster.
  14. Realistic view? Last place officially in the AL East. Wonderful.
  15. well, mediocrity and expectations of mediocrity are now a new twist in Sox philosophy...I guess when we won in 2018, that was just too much money spent. Sorry, they learned their lesson, stop paying, stop competing.
  16. Casas one day will hit .200, you watch.
  17. According to Bloom, he's super important to the defense.
  18. Yeah, don't want the production, just the aura of 87-year-old Justin Turner.
  19. Don't want guys like JD or Eavoldi...yup, all about giving others chances. We don't want success.
  20. Kluber (over-the-hill, sign him!) Story (injury prone, arm issues, sign him big!), Kike (after a bad season, sign him!), Duvall (injury prone)...yup, GM of the Year.
  21. GM of the Year, There's no denying it. Sox are so fun to watch now.
  22. vegasbob, I feel for you. You got cheated a bit for your entertainment value
  23. So this is my Realistic View of the Sox--they are unwatchable. I've been following Sox ball since I saw Yaz at Fenway in 1969. I've never seen a Sox team so lacking in so many areas, but worse with a variety of players who make me not want to watch the team. It's void of personality (unless you think Sale saying I suck 700x when he does suck is entertaining--except now he doesn't suck, and is actually pitching like the guy signed years ago). It lacks absolute star power--Devers being the only guy on the team that has it. And frankly the kids--well they are not very good--Casas, Duran, and then some of these whatever you want to call thems like Tapia, Refsnyder. The great catching tandem of Jacoby & Meyers (McGuire/Wong) is still what exactly? I guess you can get 2 guys anywhere to catch in MLB. No Wacha, no Eavoldi, no Bogie, no JD, no Hunter, no Vazquez. Verdugo? When is everyone going to just realize he is never going to bring the offensive firepower that the Sox used to have with so many leftfielders. Kike? Most overrated player out there--he is flashy though and can be a great defensive CF, but then he is supposed to be some great SS (he's not), or 2B (maybe he belongs there)...we have 80-year-old Justin Turner to replace JD....wonderful. I couldn't bring myself to go to any of the 3 games in Anaheim (closest to my home) and that's the first time (other than Pandemic season) that I did not attend a Sox game in person in my life....So my Realistic View of the Sox---Chaim Bloom needs to take some heat for this UNWATCHABLE Sox team--makes me yearn for the boring Tom Brunansky Sox--who actually was a winning team. I was at Game 5, 2018--one of the great moments to watch Betts, Bogie, Beni, JBJR, et al dominate the Dodgers...now I have to reminded of the Dodgers old-timers as the team was systematically dismantled. Some guys jettisoned for nothing and s***** prospects. This isn't a money cap league. You have an organization making a bloody fortune and they lost their way--they don't care about the fans. Bloom is the worst GM in Sox history, one bad move after another bad move. That is all. I used to like chatting about the Sox, it was fun....this 2023 product...not fun, 2022 was bad, but had some character left, the 2021 team was fun.
  24. . This guy has to be the worst Sox GM in the organization's history.
