  1. Rock The Cashner is certainly pretty f***ing far from the only pitcher "that mattered."
  2. In the immortal words of Charles Barkley, "We got a bad team man, we got a bad f***ing team."
  3. Sale, Porcello, Price (and Eavoldi) need to have a pow-wow and basically will themselves into the right frame of mind. Basically get rid of the negativity in their minds, and clear the air and then go out pitch to their capabilities. If they all get it together and then combine Rock the Cashner and EROD, the team will flourish. The offense is good enough, they just need to not have to always chase the score. It's a different Sox offense, and what's sad is that the Sox are one of the MLB leaders in rallying from deficits to win--except that cup is/has run dry. Yesterday, 5-0, then 6-2, then 8-5. Chase, chase, chase. Can't have it, and the buck starts with SPs getting quality to better starts, and all of them getting 18 outs minimum, hopefully 21 to 24.
  4. But this is also why I don't think Price belongs being lumped in with the woes of Porcello and Sale. Price has not gone distance enough, but his performance has been mostly good enough to win.
  5. You make a really good point, only 33 runs were scored (3 per game) in the 11 losses that Price started. So correct, the offense did not help him and the pen wasn't as bad during those Ls.
  6. The team is a disappointing 9-11 overall when he starts, but 6 of those losses were 1-run games, so really the Pen hasn't helped him.
  7. To be fair, he has 11 of his 20 starts that he did go at least 6 innings (18 outs), but only 2 of 6 in July.
  8. Sunk cost....try the Titantic and Lusitania (not to be confused with the Goodship LuisTiant)
  9. I don't know I think the 2012 and 2014 Red Sox get top billing for criticism.
  10. Sox fans are far from the greatest fans, but certainly the most critical, more so than any other franchise's fans. Yankees fans are not even as critical.
  11. Porcello is doing one of the worst salary-push performances in MLB history. Sale is on an Island of Lost and Price really doesn't belong as part of this list.
  12. Hire Rick Honeycutt. Or better yet, trade for him. Trade Heath Hembree for the Dodgers pitching coach.
  13. Bring back Marc Savard, oh wait.
  14. The only pitcher I ever wanted the Sox to throw the kitchen sink at was Lester. Instead they gave the big money to Price/Sale. But won a title, so all good.
  15. JD may opt out of Sox, but I'll tell you this, sure as hell glad every time he is in the lineup, always a chance of a bomb or a big hit.
  16. They should always do a "fit" test on some free agents. Carl Crawford and Panda were 2 guys that not only did I think were not going to fit BEFORE they were signed I was convinced both would collosally fail and be sent out of town. Sadly I was right on both.
  17. Another bad salary, wow, so much wasted cash.
  18. Cora won 119 last year...when you find me someone who can do better, give me a call or better yet don't ever call me.
  19. Castillo was supposed to be the 2nd coming of Puig, or the first coming of some exotic International star...the more I look back, it's utterly amazing his name still comes up.
  20. Threw him in there the way I would do for Matt Beleskey
  21. JBJR is the only guy on Earth who is too good defensively to leave off the field, and with Vasquez becoming a bonafide hitter with some power, JBJR's weak bat is acceptable. Leave him and that situation alone. The SP suck enough and would suck some more without him out there manning (not rick) CF.
  22. Rusney Castillo, Panda Sandoval, Carl Crawford, Pearce, Nathan Eavoldi...albatross salaries
  23. Game is far from over, but it's very hard to chase the score every game. It's just too much, and then you give up runs back.
  24. 16-game HR streak for Sox at Fenway--encouraging to see JD go deep to RF
  25. Porcello is just a joke, no other way to beat around the bush. He was a Cy Young and he had some electric moments last year in playoffs, but so did Sale, so did Pearce, Eavoldi. These guys are just I don't know...it's pretty evident they are toast
