  1. Yeah, don't want the production, just the aura of 87-year-old Justin Turner.
  2. Don't want guys like JD or Eavoldi...yup, all about giving others chances. We don't want success.
  3. Kluber (over-the-hill, sign him!) Story (injury prone, arm issues, sign him big!), Kike (after a bad season, sign him!), Duvall (injury prone)...yup, GM of the Year.
  4. GM of the Year, There's no denying it. Sox are so fun to watch now.
  5. vegasbob, I feel for you. You got cheated a bit for your entertainment value
  6. So this is my Realistic View of the Sox--they are unwatchable. I've been following Sox ball since I saw Yaz at Fenway in 1969. I've never seen a Sox team so lacking in so many areas, but worse with a variety of players who make me not want to watch the team. It's void of personality (unless you think Sale saying I suck 700x when he does suck is entertaining--except now he doesn't suck, and is actually pitching like the guy signed years ago). It lacks absolute star power--Devers being the only guy on the team that has it. And frankly the kids--well they are not very good--Casas, Duran, and then some of these whatever you want to call thems like Tapia, Refsnyder. The great catching tandem of Jacoby & Meyers (McGuire/Wong) is still what exactly? I guess you can get 2 guys anywhere to catch in MLB. No Wacha, no Eavoldi, no Bogie, no JD, no Hunter, no Vazquez. Verdugo? When is everyone going to just realize he is never going to bring the offensive firepower that the Sox used to have with so many leftfielders. Kike? Most overrated player out there--he is flashy though and can be a great defensive CF, but then he is supposed to be some great SS (he's not), or 2B (maybe he belongs there)...we have 80-year-old Justin Turner to replace JD....wonderful. I couldn't bring myself to go to any of the 3 games in Anaheim (closest to my home) and that's the first time (other than Pandemic season) that I did not attend a Sox game in person in my life....So my Realistic View of the Sox---Chaim Bloom needs to take some heat for this UNWATCHABLE Sox team--makes me yearn for the boring Tom Brunansky Sox--who actually was a winning team. I was at Game 5, 2018--one of the great moments to watch Betts, Bogie, Beni, JBJR, et al dominate the Dodgers...now I have to reminded of the Dodgers old-timers as the team was systematically dismantled. Some guys jettisoned for nothing and s***** prospects. This isn't a money cap league. You have an organization making a bloody fortune and they lost their way--they don't care about the fans. Bloom is the worst GM in Sox history, one bad move after another bad move. That is all. I used to like chatting about the Sox, it was fun....this 2023 product...not fun, 2022 was bad, but had some character left, the 2021 team was fun.
  7. . This guy has to be the worst Sox GM in the organization's history.
  8. Bloom will get a free pass because ultimately the organization won a long time ago. He was brought in for business reasons, not for baseball. Give Dombrowski lot of credit in that he spent to win. And they did.
  9. Panda Sandoval and Carl Crawford....BEFORE they signed with the Sox or even when I learned either were going to be Sox...the first thing I thought on both was bad fits, not going to like it in Boston, not going to like daily scrutiny and sure enough both were all-time busts. Sometimes, you got to know the landscape. Young kids who grow up in the system understand Boston and then learn to enjoy being a Sox...old veterans who have cushy situations in other lesser media cities, simply don't get it. Like I said, it doesn't matter, and who cares. Sox won 4 titles and that's all that matters now. Memories and Ortiz and Hall of Fame selections
  10. Pham has a famous quote that Bloom probably respects. Upon signing with Reds, I believe his line was "all I care about are my numbers. I have to take care of me." good, perfect for the clubhouse.
  11. If Bloom was in another city, he never would have acquired Hosmer and Pham and he would have been in sell, sell...JD gone too.
  12. Who cares...
  13. Lot of people keep defending Bloom, but the 2021 team had a lot of things go our way. 2022 isn't all Bloom, but he set the tone by not retaining Schwarber (but then throwing big money to Story) and trading a very high return Renfroe.
  14. His deadline is an F...because he didn't know what he was trying to accomplish. Dumping a .282 hitting catcher who is a big part of the clubhouse leadership was fine, as long as they were really in sell mode. But to get Tommy HitMa(m) Pham and an over-the-hill Hosmer is right up there with just whatever. That's Bloom Doom...whatever...B-? Jesus, it was a car-wreck.
  15. In his prime, best defensive CF in Sox history. Lynn right up there, but JBJR covered incredible ground. It was sad to see him turn into a slower version who often had to play RF.
  16. We had Betts, Beni, Vasquez, then Refroe, Schwarber....and we turned it into average joe Verdugo (playoff Kiki 21, MIA 22), Cordero (one of the worst trades ever), gave away Vasquez hitting .282, get a DFA for Renfroe, and refuse to sign Schwarber, but go ga-ga over Story (injured goods) and then add over-the-hill Hosmer (Bloom's love interest) and platoon Pham. The pitching staff needs work and now we can prepare for Xander and Devers to be gone by 2023. Bloom's job is complete...turn the Sox into a bad version of a fake low budget team.
  17. Bloom Doom.
  18. The JBJR DFA while Hunter Renfroe 19 HR, 46 RBI, .806 OPS just more daggar in Bloom's plight as GM. One bad move after another.
  19. You sell, you sell, you don't dump an important cog, then add and buy......unbelievable approach. Asinine.
  20. Bloom-ing Idiot. Trade the heart and soul of the clubhouse, a team void of catcher other than Vazquez, who actually wants to be a Sox, then acquire has-beens and relics and cost cutters. That's why the Sox suck. They are a shittier team than last year by leaps and bounds. Story gets the money, Xander/Devers will get the shaft when the time comes. Wouldn't bring back Renfroe, wouldn't even attempt to sign Schwarber, gave away Beni, got ultimately an average outfielder for MVP Betts. But hey let's get back aging JBJR, and have Hosmer at first and Pham platoon in the outfield and let's rely on Plawecki to be the full-time catcher. This team flat out is terrible and will get worse rest of season. Starting pitching fell apart and too many minor leaguers occupying MLB positions.
  21. I'm all for execution...at dawn for BLOOM
  22. Sox went from worst staff to best staff almost overnight...Bloom GM of the Year, JD Comeback Player of the Year, Houck is a sensation, Renfroe, Kike, Arroyo turned into viable starters, Barnes/Eavoldi All-Stars, and can't say enough about the tag team of Devers-Bogie.
  23. Dalbec has to pick it up, but in his defense team is doing well, he is a pretty good defensive 1b, and you can develop him in the process...downside he becomes the Sox new JBJR
  24. no grade on Moreland, but even 4 days a week he's better than what Dalbec offered this season.
  25. I respect your views, but he is indeed a GG candidate every year.
