  1. I've been negative the entire 22 and 23 seasons...and now the Sox are 4 games over .500, Duran Duran is the Talk of the Town, Yoshida is in the top 5 in AL batting race, Turner isn't completely replacing JD (who is having a monster comeback season for Dodgers) but he has really been tearing up the ball, Arroyo starting to hit, Verdugo is having a solid season, Devers has been everything worth that big salary despite not being surrounded by hitters to "protect him." Paxton, Bello have been sensational on the hill and Jansen is an All-Star closer. Good for the Sox and Cora and Bloom. Bottom line, bravo to the recent surge, maybe they keep it up.
  2. I think I officially "gave up" when Hunter Renfroe was traded for JBJR. And I loved JBJR back in 2018 and when he was in his prime as a GG centerfielder. But that just got me thinking what the hell is going on with this organization. Will always love Sox, like the firey play of Verdugo and the premium pitching of Paxton, Bello...but not as fun as it used to be to follow the Sox. Depressing to always see .500 or less in standings..and last place (yes, Central everyone is under .500).
  3. Excited by Verdugo, Paxton, Bello, Turner, Duran performing...maddening to see how inconsistent the Sox are these past few seasons.
  4. Turner is a good dude, good player..JD is an All-Star.
  5. History said JD had an off season..it happens--10 mil one year not exactly having to spend money on him...Eavoldi proven ace, Wacha--maybe you can argue not sure.
  6. Boston collected just four base hits — all singles — while striking out 14 times and going 0-for-3 with runners in scoring position in the series finale with Miami....contact my ass.
  7. I'm sorry moon, as far as my POV or anyone else's, it's still an apology Bloom tour in here. Other than Bellhorn and a few others, all I'm hearing are what great moves Bloom is making, and how poor Chaim is hamstrung by the "Prime Directive" of an owner who checked out long ago...4 titles was more than enough after 86 years of none. Mission accomplished. This team will suck for years to come...or they get a real GM, get some real game-changer players and some quality aces....adapt or die...right now, it's in hospice care.
  8. You are not going to win with the model the Sox have...they have put their eggs in one basket on Devers...who has performed incredibly well RBI, HR wise...after that hard-pressed to find another consistent power hitter....very proud of Devers to do what he has done without guys surrounding him.
  9. Yoshida has never played this many games...if he plays out the regular season...143 in Japan...okay, great...in Japan
  10. Under .200 hitters are an epidemic today...so many that they have to be used in regular lineups. Hitting under .200 now evaluated on OBP, HR, RBI...you can be Kyle Schwarber today and be valuable. But if you are .250 hitter who can't hit for power or RBI, what are you? Not doing much for your team.
  11. Not going to win the title. You better have some power hitting, you better have aces on the hill, a great pen. The contact is up, but what kind of contact? Look at the number of .300 hitters out there...I can count them on 2 hands.
  12. The love for exotics worked somewhat with Dice-K, but throwing a ton of money at an unknown "veteran" is asking for a chance that the experiment falls flat. I'd rather have a proven MLB veteran player...why? Well, proven and MLB experience ready...you can't discount this in winning baseball. You better have talent and you better have veteran leadership. I don't think the Sox have either.
  13. When the Sox become what we term "unwatchable." That's a feat on itself. I loved this franchise, the teams for years and years even when it was Jimy World and back in the Brunansky homer-less Sox...this team is just not very good and not fun to watch.
  14. Rusney Castillo....never materialized...not comparing Rusney to Yoshida, who was a far better bet to perform well at MLB level...What do they have in common? Having to make the adjustment to MLB, not just the hitting side...you have to be able to field in MLB and run the bases...well, Yoshida not very good at both.
  15. It's why JD Martinez's of the world are a premium. All-Star this year. Devers RBI machine...power....can never have enough.
  16. Runs don't get driven in much anymore in a league where contact is tough and runners on 2nd and 3rd and less than 2 outs is not any automatic to score even one run.
  17. They wanted singles, doubles hitters in a HR all or nothing league.
  18. The power-hitting Yoshida....he will not hold up over time.
  19. Duquette was also a f***ing genius...he got Pedro, he tied up Manny, which in itself caused future "headaches" or so the next GMs thought...instead, what it did was force the Sox to keep him and let him produce. He signed Damon and he made the Varitek-Lowe trade...f***ing genius!
  20. Bloom is into the "exotics." This is Yoshida, this is putting together a catching combo that is cheap...that and it seems he is completely in love with the Dodgers...here, go work for them, then you can have all the Dodgers you want.
  21. Dombrowski was a f***ing genius...so was Theo...why? They went after important things needed to win a WS title...Theo went hard for Schilling, plugged the defensive hole at SS with the Nomar trade...Dombro brought in key components while the farm was producing the likes of Betts, Beni, Devers, Bogie...if indeed Bloom was told here is your budget, then the Story signing is a laughing stock to blowing that budget badly.
  22. Kike Hernandez?
  23. Bloom can do no wrong. It's all good, finish 10 games under .500, all good. Keep him forever. I don't care anymore...He helped put a product out there that I don't care about the players. It's sad, but all good.
  24. It's time...Bloom fired and start anew with a different philosophy. This one is a .500 or lower nightmare
  25. Bloom has 100 dollars to spend at the supermarket. Bloom spends 50 of it on junk food that won't last, then overpays 25 for a giant rib roast, and the other 25 he spends on cheap canned goods.
