  1. So after the historic 86 year championship drought ends, fans can’t go 4 years without a title anymore?
  2. With Beltre, all you has to do was touch his head…
  3. It’s becoming a bullpen game, but a team can win with a 4-deep lights out bullpen. The Sox don’t have that, and moving Houck to the rotation brings them further away. Diekman isa good (nowhere near great, but we’ll-entrenched in good) pitcher no one will ever classify as “lights out.” Strahm looks like a leap of faith to me. And I have never been a big believer of Brasier. I do still have faith in Barnes and Whitlock. I am hoping for another arm, and if Austin Davis needs to be DFAd and released to fit him, so be it. My personal choice is Jose Urena could be a lights out reliever. And since no one will ever sign him for that role to prove me wrong, I get to keep saying it and pretending I’m on to something. But in the mean time, I’m still on the Oliver Drake train, although he is really a right-handed Diekman…
  4. Normally an IL started can go back to the player’s last appearance. Not sure about ST IL stints. Either way he probably needs the full 60 days and might require more. Ribs are notoriously slow healers, what with all that breathing humans do…
  5. Can he get a helper monkey that can turn double plays?
  6. Fortunately, with players like Casas, Dalbec, Duran and maybe even Downs, we do have some opportunities to fill some roster spots with minimum wage players, which does make keep Bogaerts and Devers more likely…
  7. BorAs, not BorIs. Bogaerts is not represented by Karloff, and any resemblance of his agent to Frankensteinian monsters is purely coincidental albeit thoroughly understandable…
  8. 1. Oliver Drake has quietly shown he can pitch 2. Jose Urena has the makings of a potential dominant reliever, or a phenomenal underachiever as a starter. Don’t sign him to start…
  9. I, for one, have been overstating it…
  10. So dated. The current phrase is “26 players=26 Ubers”…
  11. Maybe we could get Chavis back?
  12. I actually like both in the bullpen, but I certainly understand the situation…
  13. No idea, but Arroyo would dislocate his elbow high-giving the fan. That we should all agree on…
  14. BogErts does not have a ton of range, but he is very reliable on the balls he can get to. He’s never going to win a Gold Glove, but he isn’t paid what he gets paid because of his glove…
  15. It’s going to keep him waylaid for over a year????!
  16. And what we did see from Wander may have been slightly skewed since he feasted on Sox pitching like a frenzy of sharks on a whale carcass…
  17. Why not Story at SS in 2023? Much easier to get a 2b, and by then Jeter Downs might be back in the mix…
  18. And patient. He waited deep into the trading deadline and got Schwarber and at the last second, Austin Davis. He waited out this market for Story. If you like a GM who acts fast and sets the market, Bloom is not looking like your guy…
  19. I don’t think that JBJ starting was a “maybe.” Ever. Again, the Sox didn’t trade a cheaper middle-of-the-order starter to get two middling prospects and a more expensive 4th outfielder. The prospects were definitely a factor, but so was JBJ. Now at some point, it’s possible JBJ can become a 4th outfielder, but he’ll have to earn his way there. I’d still like to see them add a RHH platoon option for him. (No, not Christian “Fragile” Arroyo. Right field at Fenway is no place for OJT.). But so far they haven’t gotten one, unless it’s Rob Refsnyder, which would be even sillier since his career OPS vs LHP is worse than Bradley’s…
  20. Yes I remember Yankee fans running Jeter out of town for that same reason…
  21. Well, we used to judge defense with stats like errors and fielding percentage. But errors are really just some guy’s opinion made official. The rulebook even says so…
