  1. Wait. Didn’t you argue that it was only two years since Song pitched because of a cancelled season?!?! And that this was a factor in Dombrowski’s selection. It’s really sad when you pick on other’s for s*** you can’t get right on your own…
  2. Hmm 1,2 or 4? Which one was the number runs that you vehemently argued crossed the plate on Buckner’s error?
  3. And if Story or Mondesi return, Kike is very likely to return to the OF mix. He was only moved to the infield due to injury, and very likely returns to the OF upon recovery. He’s also probably ahead of Rafaela on the CF depth chart…
  4. A pitcher isn’t a jabroni just because he doesn’t make $20mill…
  5. As long as Bello stays healthy, the hardly surprising loss of Paxton is covered. But please do not slam on the keys when typing “Sale”. And keep it to small, safe fonts. Preferably Helvetica, often referred to as the safest font…
  6. Do you really think the last place finish mattered? Or are you just going to casually mention it at every opportunity after the Mariners made the playoffs for the first time since “Gladiator” was in theaters?
  7. I look at Duvall as a stopgap anyway. He’s holding down CF until Kike can return. It’s also possible not all these players are with Boston by season’s end. Verdugo, for example…
  8. Things do get more clouded when Story and/or Mondesi comes back and pushes Kike back into the outfield picture…
  9. Grade 1 strain. Won’t make opening day roster but expected back mid-April, when he can resume injuring himself again…
  10. I believe payroll with some IL overlap..
  11. What was it? $2.75billion and counting since their last WS appearance…
  12. My thoughts on why LeBron was added - to create a controversy resulting in web traffic and clicks. It was a plan to foster further discussion. Like when ESPN did their top 100 athletes of the 20th century and included Secretariat…
  13. The whole thing about calling an individual player a dynasty is stupid. Unles it’s in an individual sport. I could see Tiger or Tyson as better choices than LeBron…
  14. And risk hurting the catcher!?!
  15. All we want from Schreiber is to get loose without getting hurt…
  16. So you’re doubling back now because Paxton got hurt after a long hiatus?
  17. What exactly are you arguing for?
  18. The more rookies that pan out, the more left for free agent/extensions…
  19. If Bello, Whitlock and Crawford all pan out as starters (which is admittedly asking a lot), that does create opportunities for Winckowski, Houck and Mata to grow as relievers
  20. So far the only thing Duran has shown is the ability to hit AAA pitching…
  21. I’m not overly concerned. As long as he’s racking up outs. Gotta shut down the opposition in the 6th and 7th innings, too…
  22. If Mata becomes a reliever, I see no problem with that. The Sox don’t need the farm to produce starters every year, although it would be nice…
  23. I could see an argument for him needing to be on the 40 man for that 15 day period. I mean, he is a Rule 5 pick after all. I assume we do agree he would have to be added after those days expire, however the rules get interpreted here. Their current roster is full per the Phillies’ own website (which I can’t guarantee is current, but still is the best source). But it also has Harper still on it, and we know he’s definitely out until July/August. I imagine they’d just IL Harper and then add him. Maybe they’re waiting until he pitches a few times to make that call about adding him or just returning him for a full refund…
  24. I assume he will get his 15 days in the minors, but I’m not so sure he can be off the 40 man roster for them…
  25. And with the exception of Seabold, I was disappointed every time. Even if they liked Ort, the chances of a 31yo with less than 40 career IP and an ERA over 6 clearing waivers seemed higher than for any of those pitchers…
