  1. Still sticking with 24 in A ball? Stork never lets the truth get in the way of trash talk. How many years was he taunting this forum with “Bloom turned down Berrios for Duran” when that “rumor” was started by ME??!?
  2. Our standards don’t matter…
  3. People will get criticized anyway. As the saying goes, you can’t please all of the people all of the time. But you can please some of the people and the rest probably just hate everything anyway…
  4. And Betts was a 2b until they questioned if Bradley would ever hit MLB pitching. Players do change positions all the time. Heck the Marlins have last year’s SS playing CF this year…
  5. Heart or not, a starter going deeper only helps the bullpen. A staff will throw roughly 1450 IP per season. Normally a rotation giver 800-900 of those, and the bullpen picks up the rest. So obviously the lesser IP from the starters adds to that 550-650 IP workload that you’re already expecting the pen to handle…
  6. Maybe they tried but Devers (or his agent) was not amenable?
  7. More likely a DFA than a trade…
  8. That argument didn’t even make sense…
  9. 1. As a good shortstop, he is the best option at a defensive weak spot. 2. If he’s called up for defense, who cares how he hits? The guy he’s replacing is fielding poorly with a .660 OPS. If he fields well, how far below that .660 is acceptable?
  10. Cora used him smartly to get Fraley, but didn’t need to trot him out the following inning…
  11. Why not C: Wong 1b: Casas 2b: Hamilton 3b: Devers SS: Rafaela LF: Yoshida CF: Duran (eventually Duvall) RF: Verdugo DH: Turner BN: McGuire, Hernandez, Tapia, Refsnyder
  12. Based on this response, I’m not so sure you’re all that familiar with Jake Diekman or Trevor Kelley. Or Heath Hembree. Or the Tampa bullpen in general..
  13. Did you the following pitchers are currently in the Tampa bullpen - Jake Diekman, Trevor Kelley and Zack Littell? And earlier this year they had a cameo from Heath Hembree?
  14. Zack Littell!! Or is he a Tampa guy?
  15. [sigh] Put him at shortstop. His glove plays there, too…
  16. Winckowski and Crawford. Neither handled smaller workloads all that well last year. And that was s as starting pitchers…
  17. The Sox lost the last two games that were heavily influenced by poor defense. And yet the Minor League Defensive Player of the Year sits down in Portland, seemingly wasting his 40 man roster spot. Let everyone else do the hitting…
  18. But hey, when you’re down (or up) 10-1, who else do you use?
  19. Winckowski and Crawford shouldn’t be counted for 2-3 IP too often..,
  20. That depends on how many mop up arms you carry…
  21. On the bright side, 15-5 at home vs everyone else…
  22. In my little mind, the Sox rotation could be Sale, Luzardo, Paxton, Whitlock, Bello. Push Houck back to the pen with Jansen, Martin, Schreiber, Crawford, Winckowski, Rodriguez and Bernardino. Of course that depends on everyone getting healthy and Miami accepting Ceddane Rafaela (plus?) for Jesus Luzardo (which Miami should)…
