  1. Who is Joe Jacques?
  2. Agreed. There was nothing wrong with giving Kluber a chance. But it’s time to move on. It didn’t work. This has been obvious. I know it’s possible for a pitcher to just have a bad year. Josh Beckett was awful his first year in Boston, too. But this is not the case here. Kluber is over 10 years older than Beckett was and clearly has fallen off a cliff. He’s not going to recover or make any adjustments. He serves no purpose but to bolster the stats of opposing hitters…
  3. Dermody was a better choice…
  4. Since mid-April, his OPS is around .700. I know the argument is he’s being pitched around, but usually when a hitter gets pitched around, he draws a fair amount of walks. Devers has 14 walks since April 16. For some perspective, in that same timeframe, Refsnyder has 10…
  5. I think signing Sale and Bogaerts ended any attempt to…
  6. Betts did turn down basically the same AAV from Boston, but for two less years. Of course once DD signed Bogaerts and Sale, Betts tenure in Boston had an impact expiration date…
  7. Point? Mookie was leaving after 2020. He wouldn’t sign and turn the money was spent on Bogaerts and Sale. Most superstar trades yield very little. The Marlins traded back-to-back MVPs for Starlin Castro and a slew of MiLB players. The Orioles traded Manny Machado for Dean Kremer and scraps. The Marlins dealt Miguel Cabrera for BA top ten prospects who peaked at setup guy (albeit top tier and that took time) and a journeyman OF. They were never getting back another Mookie. They were in Salvage Mode…
  8. He might get the opportunity to change that in 2024…
  9. He’s not likely to see the lineup too much more with Duvall back. Now he did at least make himself look like a Major Leaguer this year, a nice bump up from whatever he was last year…
  10. That Dombrowski couldn’t get it done. Next question…
  11. Apparently he was DFAd to make room for Duvall. I am wondering if the only reason he started was to line up Whitlock for game one of the Yankee series…
  12. I’d have preferred they kept him over Kluber…
  13. Fairly certain Cora wants to get fired. I’m ok if that happens. Why did he bring in the mop up guy into a one run game? Kluber is a guy you bring in when the score is already 8-2, not because you want a 3-2 game to become 8-2…
  14. Please tell me that quote is made up. Finding holes? Yeah Ramirez noticed a weak spot in the Sox outfield in that they couldn’t cover the right center field bleacher seats…
  15. Sure he is. Bloom traded Renfroe for him…
  16. DFA Kluber. I’d rather see them keep Dermody…
  17. Why was he brought in? Nick Pivetta hasn’t pitched this series.
  18. A poodle with rabies and a spear gun!!
  19. I think he blocked my texts…
  20. Demote Valdez. Promote Hamilton…
  21. Actually the Betts trade has worked out pretty well considering the Sox were never going to be able to sign him and they acquired two starters…
  22. The idea that the Sox let a few 30 something (and in a couple cases, very injury-prone) free agents go and they got hot elsewhere is hardly Bloom’s biggest mistake. This whole Hamilton situation is just ridiculous. Hamilton gets protected over Ward, probably the Sox most MLB-ready pitching prospect before the season. Not only do we see far too many games of Hernandez flummoxing around the infield, but Hamilton - whom it was so important to keep - tears up AAA and is left there in the minors. Meanwhile, the Sox keep trotting out Enmanuel Valdez and his specially designed glove with 5 thumbs and keep leaving Kike at SS. And then because Ward is in Washington, trot out a 32yo career minor league/multiple Asian league veteran with an 88mph fastball to join the rotation. Letting go of aging players who go on a hot streak can be just bad luck. But the promotions and non-promotions on this team are the real questionable moves…
  23. Then he should have protected Ward instead!!!!
  24. Then I’ll only deduct one point…
  25. I don’t even think he’s the answer. But he’s probably an improvement and easily available. Demote Valdez. Bump Kike to 2nd. And let Hamilton try SS.
