  1. .. and one that was compounded multiple times by DFAing other players over Ort…
  2. Alfaro is a legitimate power threat in the same way Dalbec is…
  3. Hopefully true. But you’re assuming they get back before Sale and Kluber get injured…
  4. I assumed Joan Rivers…
  5. So right now , based on your last two answers. I can’t tell if you’re a 60-something year old man who looks like a frog wearing pants. Or an angry pre-teen girl…
  6. Frankly I’d much prefer the Sox got an external SP and put Houck back in the bullpen…
  7. Wrong Bono. And how old are you that THAT’S your Go To Bono?
  8. Just abort..
  9. Hey Yahoo is THE prime internet source of actresses in their 50’s modeling bikinis!! Get with it!
  10. I did criticize the deal, but only half-ass since Mills was a former Tampa farmhand and figured Bloom knew something…
  11. Thank you, Buzzkill Bono…
  12. BTV liked it as well…
  13. Dalbec to Philly for LHP Michael Plassmeyer. Philly lost Rhys Hoskins for the season and could use a RHH compliment for Darick Hall, a 27yo former 14th round pick with 142 career PA (and 44 strikeouts). Dalbec, being a former Dombrowski draft pick, is a solution he’s familiar with. Plassmeyer is a 25yo LHP with good numbers but getting to be part of a bullpen crunch in Philly. Roster Resource doesn’t have him in their bullpen but he is on the 40 man roster, so trading him opens a spot for Dalbec…
  14. 1. That’s good news because Ort isn’t external. 2. Reread point #1…
  15. I only named dates. Although I’d probably have kept Park over Ort, too, if I had that option…
  16. I don’t get the Wallace/Mills trade. But part of that was me clearly valuing Wallace more than Bloom did, and also me knowing absolutely nothing about Mills. I still really don’t…
  17. Oooh… the ol’ False Sense of Security stategy. They could release Goodrum. I’m fine with that. He could also ride the bench in Worcester. Whatever. He’s absolutely the least of the Sox problems right now…
  18. Those are the dates. Don’t blame me. Park was acquired 11/23 as well. Either way, not many are happy with the whole Ort/Ward thing, but Ort has done absolutely nothing to justify it, and simply keeping him on the roster and hoping that happens is even more foolish. At this point, it’s not even Ward. I’d much rather have held onto to German over both Ort and Ward…
  19. I hope Worcester management will do something similar. Goodrum is just a warm body right now…
  20. The Rule 5 draft was December 7 and Park was DFAd December 13 and subsequently traded to Atlanta.
  21. … Which is odd because Murphy is 16 months younger and actually been pitching. Why would we lament the 26 year old minor leaguer whose only thrown 71 IP total in the last 3 years? At some point, the best ability is availability…
  22. Goodrum will probably be left in Worcester. He was only signed to pay shortstop there anyway…
  23. It’s not so much a false premise as it is a strong possibility. If not Ward, then who?
  24. It’s always been unjustified carrying Ort until now. And while people say that it makes not protecting Ward look worse, is there a single person on this board who thnks keeping Ort has ever been the right baseball move?
  25. A lot of teams traded for Hoy Park this off-season and then DFAd him. Teams liked his glove and OBP skills, but not enough to dedicate a 40 man roster spot. That type of thing happens to a few players every offseason…
