  1. And becsuse Tapia was added to the Red Sox roster, he won’t be able to duplicate his embarrassment of Duran with another routine-fly-turned-inside-the-park-grand-slam…
  2. And that’s down from how many last year?
  3. Even though Kluber was better and healthier than both last season? Wacha threw 127 innings last year and it was the most he’d thrown since 2017. Kluber threw 164. Eovaldi considers the Injured List his summer home…
  4. You might think knuckleballers throw soft, but they throw 60-65 mph, which is still probably harder than any us can throw. And then the ball moving unpredictably to boot? Try catching a knuckleball first, and you’ll see how weird and scary just doing that is. The ball just darts anywhere, seemingly freezes in place for a fraction of a second, then darts off in another random direction. All the time moving faster than you realize…
  5. Was this true in December?
  6. He may also get non-tendered after the season…
  7. This team can’t be good!! They never replaced Renfroe’s RBIs!!!
  8. Joe Musgrove isn’t good? He had one bad outing this year…
  9. Maybe he went blind in May?
  10. Did the eye test notice Casas has an OPS of .900 since May 3?
  11. Number 6 was Ceddane Rafaela, who suddenly dropped down a little bit on the Need to Have list once Duran learned how to play baseball. If the Sox make a big move, Rafaela is probably most likely to go…
  12. Per BTV, they are 1. Mayer 2. Whitlock 3. Bello 4. Bleis 5. Casas
  13. Still might be before Mondesi…
  14. Jason Heyward on the 2016 Cubs…
  15. Well, Kluber did pitch 164 IP last year, and had better peripherals than Wacha and Eovaldi. Bloom simply gambled he could provide innings and upside. I have no idea if he provides leadership or not…
  16. The Sox acquired an innings-eating starting pitcher for two journeyman relief pitchers each with two months on control left and who have combined to play for eight different MLB teams (including Boston) since the deal. And people are complaining about this guy?
  17. There are absolutely pros and cons. The biggest con is it leads to bigger turnover, which means more misses. More hits, too, but more misses…
  18. The first part alone is pure supposition. So you think if the Sox simply did not sign Kluber, they’re a playoff team?
  19. With Eflin, it reportedly wasn’t the money; a huge factor was the Orlando native wanting to go back home. I heard he basically had his agent take Boston’s offer to Tampa and ask them to match it. If that’s true, do you think upping the offer mattered?
  20. I don’t think they’re going to fire Bloom while the team is winning. You do realize the Sox have a winning record, right? Kluber didn’t work out, but that’s not exactly trailblazing in MLB. He’s actually not much off the pace of Nate Eovaldi in 2019 (5.99 ERA), but he doesn’t have the additional years attached…
  21. 1. Just because he hasn’t, does not mean he doesn’t and never will. Really what low budget starter should he have gone long with so far? 2. Garrett Whitlock disproves this.
  22. 1. $10mill down the drain is hardly insurmountable in today’s MLB 2. He’d be a bigger detriment if they kept starting him. We’ve all seen less effective pitchers given longer opportunities. Like Lackey. And Lackey wasn’t dragged down by having to throw to Reese McGuire
  23. Lackey was proof that when it comes to judging contracts, it’s not how you stats; it’s how you finish…
  24. Yes, but it still only helped the Sox get Joe Kelly and Allen Craig’s contract…
  25. Especially since Max was right, but that also means the label gets applied in hindsight…
