  1. Does that actually happen? Seems to me off they did bring in some new players, they’re yelling at least one guy he isn’t doing good job..
  2. There’s the argument that not making acquisitions sends a negative message to the players. Maybe. But what’s true is acquiring a deadline player sends a very negative message to at least one player on your team…
  3. Fans like to blame that, but I have serious doubts it affects players.
  4. I’m not abandoning ship. But I’m very displeased with the cruise director’s choice of entertainment…
  5. He’s 22 years old and in A ball and already had Tommy John surgery once. I doubt we miss him..
  6. 2 career DRS at 2b, but in only 872 innings. Or roughly 60% of a season…
  7. When are all the Sox pitchers due back? Honestly, if we get to the point of everyone not named Kluber being healthy, a rotation of Sale, Paxton, Bello, Crawford and Houck doesn’t look too bad. And a bullpen of Jansen, Martin, Whitlock, Schreiber, Pivetta, Winckowski, Bernardino and Bleier looks even better…
  8. His name is also Urías. Cleveland’s Gabriel is the only pitcher named “Arias”..
  9. Urias isn’t horrible. He’s barely played this year for whatever reason. But he’s just so redundant. The Sox already have a few RHH part time middle infielders manning 2b. Either a full time starting 2b, or a LHH part time 2b to platoon. It basically took all day to get another Christian Arroyo…
  10. PR Hell in a Handbasket?
  11. Urias hasn’t lived up to his prospect hype. And more important, cannot pitch…
  12. They gave up Bradley Blalock, who, as far as I can tell, is an NPC…
  13. And so it was all for Luis Urias…
  14. Although I will say both are very talented defenders…
  15. You’re just saying that because of his .468 OPS this year. But remember, he can platoon here and against RHP, it’s a robust .501 OPS!
  16. Ok now a few more deals that didn’t get coverage will trickle in over the next 30 minutes or so, as folks learn they happened. But overall, this was a massive flop for Bloom. Since any blockbuster involving, say, Dylan Cease, would have netted at least some ink. His overall grade today, I’ll give a generous Z-, as I slide past conventional grading and slip deep into sarcasm…
  17. Yeah!! A DFAd player. First rumor of the day! Also, can he pitch?
  18. Or at the last minute we’ll get some mediocre Scott Barlow type followed by a speech about how he just “fell into his lap.” A speech that might have made sense about Barlow about 4 mph ago…
  19. If the Dodgers required that, they would likely have never talked about ERod…
  20. It’s all I got. I’ve just noticed almost every NTC includes higher payroll teams…
  21. Players on lower payroll teams often put higher paying teams on their NTC. I think the logic is he doesn’t want to play for LA for Detroit money…
  22. About one hour to go. Fenway full of crickets. Granted blockbuster deals can and do come together quick and at the last minute - the Jason Bay acquisition in 2008, for example. But I’m lacking faith here…
  23. Mariners, too. Red Sox, Yankees and (for some reason no one understand) Orioles have been deathly silent…
  24. Actually Rotoworld is quite often faster…
  25. Verlander to Houston Lorenzen to Philadelphia
