  1. 1. Not sure what your point was beyond missing mine. Jad said all he cared about was following the star players. The gang was all there in 2019. Did that make it enjoyable? 2. Previous World Series followups are irrelevant. 3. And why just a casual mention of GAME SEVEN of the 2008 ALCS!? That was one of the most exciting LCS ever. Sox down 3 games to one and trailing 7-0 in the 7th inning of game 5 and NEARLY WON THE SERIES?!? That does fit your criteria for baseball excitement!?! What do you need? A fireworks display leading to a series of public executions where the axes all get swung by swimsuit models?
  2. And now tell me what those numbers are in 2032…
  3. Didn’t everyone remember how much fun 2019 was?
  4. I was actually hoping for a sac bunt, but I would have been shocked to see Turner actually try one…
  5. They sold out this game ago? After coming in last place last year? But all year long you’ve been telling us about the reduced attendance and how Henry doesn’t like our, use this last place Team was selling out September games 6 months in advance! With people showing up! I guess that
  6. Sale is a part time asset. I think it would be wise to offer Pivetta arbitration and let him start the 20-25 games Sale isn’t available for…
  7. I’d have preferred he go for it. I like having a strong farm but two straight fire sales when the team was 3 or less games out of the postseason, while better than what Bloom did, is still ridiculous…
  8. And why won’t Verdugo be back next season?
  9. Would “Ripple” be better?
  10. Also no shot in Hell the Sox are getting a comp pick when Turner leaves. They’re getting a buyout bill for $6.7mill and that’s it…
  11. Trading doctrine for another pitcher that would have kept us within two games of the wild card would have been even better. Like I said, Bloom neither bought nor sold. I would have been ok with either commitment. If you’re buying, keeping Turner makes sense. But to do nothing was just inexcusable, and for the second year in a row is a good reason to fire Bloom. Passing up on one questionable trade is really not…
  12. I’d have been more OK with not making it if Bloom committed more to buying than just getting an injured 2b facing a non-tender…
  13. That was also selling. I would have been happier with selling than what abloom would up doing. I’d have made that trade, but let’s not pretend Cabrera is anything more than one of thousands of “raw stuff” guys who shows flashes of potential but ultimately struggles to stay in MLB…
  14. The thing why I just sing is because it has more to do with the Yankees winning than the Sox losing. And that was how it differed from 2011…
  15. The Sox won last night. Why are you here?
  16. Is that really a historic collapse? That’s two bad series. That type thing literally happens every year to some team…
  17. That is because every time the team plays well, you go into hiding to deliberately avoid positive talk about them…
  18. And if you give a really big Contract to Player A, it can and often does hamper your ability to give an even bigger contract to Player B. And giving out both often means saying goodbye to Player C…
  19. They had an unbelievable first half, but it’s only a collapse if you actually anticipated 112 wins.
  20. Burnes is younger and has much less wear on his arm than Nola. Obviously risk depends on the human, but it does mitigate it somewhat.
  21. More blown saves is going to be a trend, considering it’s not indicative of any sort of ninth inning failure. (Also a blown save isn’t necessarily a loss. What was the Sox record in those games?) We’ve seen pitchers get credited with blown saves as early as the fifth inning. In this day of reduced starter workload, 8 man bullpens, and the opener strategy, the blown save compared to previous years is a useless stat. Might as well compare DH numbers on NL teams from this year to those from 20 years ago…
  22. The 1978 “collapse” is the most overblown story in the history of Boston sports. That team won 99 games, fifth most in franchise history and second most since 1946, played at a .525 clip while “collapsing” and were the team that actually had to come back to force the 163rd game. The Yankees just played an unbelievable second half that year, much like Boston did for the first half…
  23. Really? Mine would be “why did you avoid getting pitching at the last two trade deadlines when the Sox were clearly still in the hunt for the postseason?”
  24. I take initial offer and do it right now!! “What? $45,000? Sounds good but I can’t do any GMing between 9 and 5!!” And let me tell you folks, after 4 years of me, you’ll be begging for Bloom back!
  25. Didn’t Henry himself take shots at Nomar after that trade?
